Job Overview:

The Client and Government Reporting team comprises of cost basis and tax reporting functionalities. The tax reporting component ensures that all Internal Revenue Service (IRS) client tax reporting forms are issued and mailed in an accurate and timely manner. The cost basis component is responsible for the receipt, maintenance, and delivery of tax lots used to calculate cost basis.

The Cost basis and Tax Analyst will conduct routine analysis and tests of various components of a quality control program comprised of data analysis, systems evaluation, and quality technology. This role requires the individual to understand operational processes, dependencies, and control points. Furthermore, an understanding of Cost basis and Tax procedures is strongly recommended.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting and, at times, leading initiatives to improve and enhance the Advisor experience while positively impacting the broader LPL organization.

  • Share trends and pain points with leadership and business partners to find solutions and pursue process improvements.

  • Resolve escalated issues and review for training opportunities.

  • Support internal/external Audit and risk management review of QC processes as needed.

  • Analyze reports and data to determine actionable business intelligence with a strong attention to detail.

  • Maintain processes and improve operational efficiency.

  • Innovate, test, and launch new ideas to solve complex business problems.

  • Work closely with internal LPL departments on different projects and initiatives

  • Assist with Audit reviews, collection of data and materials for regulators and/or Internal Audit.

  • Makes connections and offers creative recommendations on how to solve business challenges.

  • Recognizes issues, problems, or opportunities and determines whether action is needed.

  • Lead Projects and UAT testing on behalf of the business.

  • Seeks the perspective of others and re-examines assumptions to creatively solve problems and generate solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of financial services experience (Tax and Cost basis experience is a plus).

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

  • Strong attention to detail with a pro-active approach to solving and preventing problems.

  • Must be comfortable with Microsoft Excel

  • Compiling data, formatting data and spreadsheets, and executing calculations/formulas.
  • Must be comfortable with Microsoft Access
  • Comfortable with accessing and managing various databases.

Pay Range:

$25.48-$38.22/hour

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
