The Analyst - Space Management collaborates with the Sr. Space Analyst and cross functional business team partners to develop and deliver planograms for assigned business categories impacting up to $2B in Revenue. The planogram is a foundational merchandising tool providing retail with direction to effectively set merchandising presentations and merchants with a vehicle to strategically tailor assortments. This position leverages, business strategies, SKU performance data, and established Merchandising Guidelines to drive a positive in-store customer shopping experience and deliver financial goals through the planogram. The Space Analyst is accountable for the accuracy of multiple systematic feeds impacting the integrity of product assortments, replenishment, and pricing across 1000+ stores

Responsibilities of this role include:

Develops and produces product planograms for assigned business categories

  • Utilizes his/her expertise in merchandising tools (JDA), techniques and technologies to design and execute shelf presentation and product placement strategies for BBY retail stores

  • Impacts assortment optimization, store segmentation, and shelf space efficiency using SKU performance data, business strategies, customer demographics, and space analytics to achieve facings, capacity and ROS targets

  • Implements key product launches and category strategies in compliance with merchandising guidelines and legal requirements (ADA) to support business team financial goals and vendor agreements

Works across corporate and retail capabilities to deliver best- in- class merchandising presentations

  • Partners with Merchants, Merch Project Managers, GNFR, Visual Merchandising, Retail OPS, Demand Planning, Forecasting, Enterprise Product Management and the Sr. Space Analyst on timely delivery of all elements required for effective transitions and accurate planograms

  • Manages communication of critical, time sensitive data to cross functional teams: Store Lists, Store Counts, SKU and Store Assortment Grids, Versioning and Segmentation requests, VPP counts, Sign Types and other Planogram based information

  • Validates and reconciles transition scope with budgeted labor hours to ensure adequate time is allocated for retail execution of merchandising plans

  • Partners with Visual Merchandising to set, review, and evaluate planogram mock ups to enhance merchandising, validate fixtures/displays, and ensure system alignment prior to deployment

  • Lead the Planogram proofing process across multiple horizontal partners to ensure stakeholder alignment

  • Responsible for addressing Retail Planogram feedback via PAF and eSource for immediate set resolution

Actively Manages Foundational Data Integrity

  • Accountable for upstream and downstream implications of the work: timely feeds to Supply Chain, VMM, and Sign System to deliver inventory replenishment, merchandising direction, and accurate printing of signs at retail

  • Analyze and implement the product codes (display, box stock, sign only), disposition codes (sell through, destroy, send back) that drive retail behaviors and execution of the plan

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of Product Merchandising experience

  • Intermediate (or above) proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Analytical problem solving experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • Experience with JDA Intactix and/or other Space Management Software

  • Intermediate or above skills in Excel

  • 2 years Space Management, Space Planning, Planogram or Store Design experience
