Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or related discipline OR equivalent combination of education and applicable experience.
Five to six years progressive experience in accounting, financial analysis, and/or project accounting
Preferred Qualifications
MBA and/or CPA
Experience in a not-for-profit or higher education setting.
Hands-on post award grant administration experience along with knowledge of Federal OMB Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and federal acquisitions regulations (FAR)
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products required; experience with an enterprise-wide financial applications software system
Job Summary
Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of accounting transactions, providing accounting support and excellent service to College of Science (COS) faculty and staff, including: completing account reconciliations; processing journal entries; reviewing transactions to ensure compliance with University policies and procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements; accessing and distributing financial reports to college personnel; and, responding to customer inquiries regarding accounting processes. Prepare financial reporting and complex financial analysis for the COS, primarily focused on internally-funded accounts (operating, capital, gift, endowment, special projects, and discretionary accounts) and occasionally externally-funded accounts (grants and contracts), when the funding sources are intermingled.
