Required Qualifications
Education/Experience:
BS in a quantitative business discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Economics, Accounting Information Systems); five to six years related accounting and financial analysis experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and applicable experience.
Skills:
Enterprise wide financial applications experience
Advanced knowledge of Excel and Access
Intermediate knowledge of all other MS Office products.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or MBA;
Specific higher education and/or not-for-profit expertise and knowledge of the requirements of sponsored programs administration, accounting practices, and procedure.
Knowledge of Lean principles including evidence of successful application to achieve process improvement.
Job Summary
Please note: The initial appointment period is a 20 month appointment ending on February 1, 2026 and is conditioned on satisfactory performance as determined by the Controller's office.
This appointment may be extended based on satisfactory performance and the needs of the Enterprise Resource Planning project. At the conclusion of the project, the position will end and your employment with RIT will be terminated.
Responsible for post-award financial administration of a large portfolio of grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements including but not limited to accounting, internal and external financial reporting, budget compliance, analysis, and forecasting for colleges and research centers. Provide support to the Sponsored Programs Account (SPA) management team and staff by researching and interpreting compliance and allowability questions. Assist in developing and implementing new and modified policies and procedures to improve operational efficiencies.
