Our greatest asset has been and will continue to be our people. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Risk Operations Analyst within our Risk Operations based in Houston, TX.
Monitor daily trading activity; gather data for root cause analysis, prepare and compile weekly/monthly metric dashboards to capture business incidents and policy violations; identify business risk issues and work with Risk Operations manager to recommend solutions; generate risk and other management reports.
Generate and review standard form confirmations for transactions done under master contracts, ensure commercial terms are correctly captured and confirmations are dispatched within contract deadline.
Use systems effectively and efficiently to mitigate operational risks; develop strong relationships with IT colleagues to test/implement technology platforms to deliver solutions to business requirements; assist management on routine automation and system testing as needed.
Collaborate with team members of all levels to complete daily tasks; share market and systems knowledge; develop best practice methodologies and approaches for business analysis; proactively follow up on incidents and escalate, if necessary.
Understand priorities of stakeholders to ensure that business needs are met; protect client confidentiality; address ad-hoc requests in a timely fashion.
Onboard new counterparties and manage counterparty master reference data in Energy Risk Management System.
Identify, investigate, and monitor the resolution of data integrity issues.
Minimum 5 years of experience in an energy trading and marketing environment
Experience with the contracts and confirmation process, including financial commodities and Dodd-Frank compliance
Knowledge of Energy Risk Management Systems (i.e. Allegro, Openlink, CXL, OATI or Solarc)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in generating physical Gas and/or Crude confirmations
Strong Access and Excel skills preferred
Must be task oriented, meticulous with a high degree of accuracy
High aptitude, affinity, and confidence in learning new computer software programs
Good communication skills
Ability to recognize problems by analyzing a large volume of information in a systematic and logical manner
Detail oriented, thorough, focused, perceptive, and inquisitive
Dependable and responsive
Experience with system implementations, user acceptance testing, process documentation, and special projects preferred
Excellent time-management and organizational skills
College degree preferred
