Duff & Phelps' Property Tax practice assists clients in identifying tax saving opportunities by reviewing their tangible property portfolio and associated property tax assessments and liabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Compliance Analyst in Property Tax, duties will include the following:

  • Work with team to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner and deadlines are met

  • Audit tax bills vouchered for accuracy

  • Update collector information as necessary

  • Create and image checks for client tax payments

  • Notify clients of amounts due

  • Produce and upload positive pay files on bank website

  • Mailing of client tax payments

  • Obtain copies of cancelled checks as requested

  • Place follow-up calls to collectors as needed

  • Collect all proof a mail articles for the previous day and ensure daily reconciliation is correct

  • Obtain certified mailing delivery confirmations

  • File all check writing documents

  • File and pay Sales and Use Returns

  • Remit unclaimed property amounts to owners and state collectors

  • Reconcile petty cash monthly

  • Reconcile bank accounts monthly

  • Generate, print and mail invoices as required

  • Perform other related duties as directed by the Vice President of Finance in the Addison Office

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with co-workers and clients

  • Working knowledge of personal computer and multiple software applications used in job functions including Intermediate MS Excel and MS Word

  • Ability to collaborate with leads and other team members

  • Demonstrate the ability to obtain technical expertise in the managed field

  • Ability to problem solve and make educated decisions

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or related field OR a minimum of 4 years related work experience

VIEW JOBS 12/13/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-13T00:00 Job Description The TRADE SURVEILLANCE AND COMPLIANCE MONITORING ANALYST ("TSA") is part of the firms Operations department and is primarily responsible for supervising post-sale activity of independent Registered Representatives and Investment Adviser Representatives. This supervision includes, but is not limited to, T+1 and periodic reviews of transactions and accounts through FIS Protegent Surveillance ("Pro Surv"), managed account IPS monitoring, resolving CIP Alerts in Thomson Reuters Clear, reviewing AML and National Financial exception reports. The TSA should have a comprehensive knowledge of FINRA and SEC rules and regulations, plus general broker-dealer and RIA operations. The TSA works closely with internal clients in capital markets, compliance and service as well as direct communication with financial advisors and assistants. Essential Job Functions * Review daily, weekly and monthly alerts generated by account activity in the assigned region through Pro Surv * Monitor managed account adherence of investment policy exceptions through Pro Surv and Envestnet * Review daily, weekly and monthly ad hoc exception reports as needed * Review and resolve new account CIP alerts through the firms CRM and Thomson Reuters Clear * Asset team in resolving alerts outside of region if volumes dictate. * In depth knowledge of the department and firms Written Supervisory Procedures and FINRA rules and regulations * Provide suggestions and guidance on risk reviews and perform ad-hoc reviews as needed. * Provide support for internal risk reviews and regulatory audits and inquiries as needed. * Identify and recommend ideas for process and procedure improvements * Perform duties with a service excellence mindset. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS * Provide explanation of internal policies and procedures to Advisors/Assistants and internal staff * Perform special projects, as assigned. * Various writing assignments as assigned, including Procedural updates and forms revisions, including any necessary WSP revisions. Qualifications: * College degree or five years of relevant industry experience preferred; * Minimum three years of experience in a compliance, risk, or sales supervision role; * Experience with FIS Protegent Surveillance preferred; * Understanding of FINRA regulations and the ability to apply and explain regulatory concepts; * Series 7, 24 required, Series 4 and 66 required within 120 days of employment SKILLS * Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Must have strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize jobs independently. * Strong investigative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment. * Must have the ability to adapt quickly to changes or increases in workload, procedures and duties. * Must be willing and effective at accomplishing tasks by working with others, including subordinates, peers and superiors. * Must have excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and other MS Office applications. 1St Global Dallas TX
