Position Title: Analyst - Private Funds Group

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 0 - 2 years of experience

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, both written and oral

  • Strong quantitative skills and acute attention to detail

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Candidate will be able to demonstrate a high level of initiative and self-motivation and must be able to work independently, across a variety of responsibilities and at a fast pace

  • Private equity fundraising experience is not necessary, but candidate must be enthusiastic about the private equity industry and demonstrate a capacity to learn quickly

  • Enthusiastic, outgoing, and achievement-oriented character

Main Duties & Responsibilities: Project Management & Origination Analysts will be generalists and help execute on fundraises for institutional clients across private equity, private credit and infrastructure / real assets. You will be involved throughout the full fundraising process covering pre-mandate fund analysis and due diligence, preparation of marketing materials, development and execution of marketing strategy, interaction with target investors and securing of fund commitments.

Expected Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000

Substantial experience in the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 in the context of a retail mutual funds operation is required.</p><p>Responsibilities include:</p><p>Organizing Board meetings, drafting and/or reviewing Board materials and minutes and serving as Secretary of Board meetings; drafting and/or reviewing Form N-1A and N-2 registration statements, prospectuses, SAIs and prospectus supplements, Form N-14 registration statements, proxy statements, shareholder meeting materials, and exemptive applications, as applicable.  Attending meetings, including Board, committee, and shareholder meetings. Providing counsel to the Chief Compliance Officer in connection with the firm's compliance policies and procedures and providing project-specific and general securities and corporate law advice to all business partners.</p><p>The candidate will have regular, ongoing interaction with the supervising attorney and group paralegals, other members of the Legal Department, senior managers, outside counsel, independent registered public accountants, sub-advisers and other business partners. The candidate will be required to frequently facilitate communication among all major stakeholders, including senior management and control functions.</p><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>External</li></ul><p>Advanced Legal Degree or local country equivalent degree usually required.  Requires licensure or certification for placement in the role; 3-7 years minimum of total work experience as a qualified attorney is preferred. Prior corporate legal experience within the financial services industry or experience in assigned practice area (e.g., securities, employment, etc.) with an outside law firm is preferred.</p><p>BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $108,000 and $230,000 per year at the commencement of employment.
