About the team and position

Carvana needs an ambitious Payroll Analyst. You will support the Payroll Team through a number of payroll and accounting-related processes. The Payroll team is part of our larger Accounting organization, and is an integral part of our business. Your role will help to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing and reporting. As a Payroll Analyst, you'll report directly to the Senior Manager of Payroll.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and distribute a variety of payroll reports to various teams within Carvana.

  • Work closely with the Workday HCM team to troubleshoot, test, and deliver system optimizations.

  • Perform regular and ad hoc audits of payroll data/information to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, including SOX compliance.

  • Actively support the payroll team/leaders in keeping processes and projects organized, and help drive beneficial process improvements.

  • Assist in the development of Payroll team training materials and supporting process documentation.

  • Serve as a resource for questions and support for others within the accounting department, specifically related to general ledger/reconciliations.

  • Assist in additional team/department projects as needed.

What you should know/have

  • 5+ years of experience in payroll administration or supporting roles.

  • 2+ years of experience analyzing financial data.

  • Workday experience and a general understanding of HCM systems.

  • An understanding of payroll accounting and account reconciliation process.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel (e.g., vlookups, pivot tables, etc).

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability and desire to work continuously and autonomously on varied tasks.

  • Ability to handle highly confidential information.

  • Effective time management and organization skills.

  • Superior attention to detail.

  • A Bachelor's degree.

  • Multi-State taxation experience.
