Job Description Summary


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for identifying and documenting Quality Control business requirements and processes, including providing clarification on any requirement discrepancies.- Perform all internal reporting needs of the Quality Control Operations team.- Understand Quality Control business problems and opportunities and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.- Extracts, tabulates, and analyzes data to support program activity and assists in Management decision making.- Review and edit requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to new processes, functionality, and/or proposed solutions within Quality Control.- Identify, analyze, and communicate all system and process defects.- Identify innovative strategies to create operational and/or system efficiencies.- Work closely with business owners, operations, users, and systems staff to improve business efficiency.- Work effectively with internal and external business partners in the delivery of solutions.- Provide production support for Quality Control Operations.- Monitor process data to identify potential system and process issues.- Monitor QCDT for efficiency.- Responsible for adhering to established safety standards.- Work is constantly performed in an office environment.- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience.- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time.- Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Preservation Technicians perform such Records Preservation functions as: digital conversion, auditing records, migrating records, digital and AN processing, microform negative processing, producing digital and microfilm surrogates, image capture, and collections care. Customers expect on-time delivery of high quality products and services. Failure to meet expectations will create significant disruptions to FCH acquisition efforts, the Unified System publishing pipeline, the accessibility of records to researchers worldwide, the supply of names to temples, the Corporations' Records Management program, and the preservation of essential FCH records. Responsibilities * 90% - Aids preservation function by performing such duties as: operating digital conversion scanners, auditing images and records, communicating audit results directly to customers, analyzing records and determining appropriate migration action, testing to certify preservation conditions, processing new camera negatives, producing digital preservation files, operating equipment to produce digital/microform/paper surrogates, operating digital cameras and scanners, creating metadata, indexing digitally captured records, operating microfilm cameras, identifying problems with records and performing appropriate actions, circulating records for approved use, and international and domestic shipping. Must achieve high quality, low costs, rapid delivery, and customer satisfaction while adhering to safe work practices. * 8% - Improves processes by assisting in process design and implementation. * 2% - Ensures optimal performance by conducting routine maintenance on equipment and workstations. Qualifications * High School degree or equivalent. * One year of production experience or a minimum of six months achieving acceptable Preservation Technician 1 performance. Good oral and written communication skills. * Ability to safely meet physical job requirements such as eyesight, sitting, standing, lifting, and climbing ladders.
