Analyst

Overview

A GIS Analyst will work individually and as part of a team to support data production in an ArcMap, Microstation and CADD environment; producing finalized data deliverables based on client requests. The Analyst has knowledge of all aspects of the workflow and performs rigorous QA/QC and assists in training others. A GIS Analyst produces consistent finished products and works toward identifying and developing process improvements and efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Ensures dissemination of tutorial updates to relevant stakeholders and processors

• Mentors and provides support across production teams

• Engages in cross-training opportunities on the production team

• Proactively seeks opportunities to grow their technical or leadership skill set through office wide collaboration (other task leads, co-tech leads, technical specialists and experts)

• Can maintain productivity while performing repetitive tasks

• Understands how the data interacts across the workflow

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience in a professional GIS work environment

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience

• Moderate knowledge of ESRI or vector-based software and TerraSolid products

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ year of technician or equivalent experience

• Master's degree, in geography, environmental studies/science, planning, or a related field with an emphasis in GIS

• Proficiency in ArcMap, MicroStation and PLS-CADD preferred

• Ability to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities

• Attention to details and experience with QA/QC and data analysis

• Experience with or knowledge of:

• Geographical Information Systems

• Mapping or analysis using LiDAR

• Transmission tower and distribution pole components (wire types, insulators, transformers)
