The web analyst will own all aspects of North America ecommerce analytics and will be responsible for executing on reporting projects that support planning, execution and website optimization. Key partners will include members from the Global Marketing & Regional ecommerce teams.

This role will use Adobe Analytics.


  • Own regional Ecommerce results reporting process and analysis for the North America region.

  • Conduct ad hoc analysis for internal partners as requested

  • Build ad hoc reports, dashboards, and perform deep dives upon need

  • Partner with cross-functional partners to improve understanding of underlying performance drivers and deliver actionable insights to inform business decisions

  • Proactively learn about the online customer experience and identify friction points and solutions with specific focuses on site merchandising, creative and internal linking strategies.

  • Incorporate industry web analytics best practices and methodologies (e.g., testing and behavioral targeting) to design actionable marketing tests.

  • Partner with global counterparts on the strategic direction of defining KPIs, and measurement methodology.

  • Own traffic and sales forecasts by channel

  • Own website sales forecast by merchandise collection and price strata

  • Partner on creation of media traffic and revenue benchmarks and goals

  • Act as a web analytics Center of Excellence for the region by developing global standards and frameworks to enable and empower business stakeholders to leverage data to inform their day-to-day business decision

  • Administer and train cross-functional partners on web analytics tools and enable self-service for basic reporting efforts



  • Bachelor's degree

  • 2+ years in analytics related roles for a Retail focused company

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within digital marketing and eCommerce

  • Experience working with key analytics tools, expertise in Adobe Analytics required

  • Ability to gather, manipulate, and analyze large sets of data

  • Ability to transform data to create a story with actionable insights

  • Team player; ability to work with a diverse set of professionals

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent follow-through, prioritization skills, and attention to detail

  • Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills

In this role, you will lead project design and delivery. You will bring creative approaches to gathering, structuring, and fusing data and then building and running analytic models that provide insight into critical commercial processes. This may include cross-sell, churn reduction, dynamic pricing, etc. You will also leverage relevant statistics and analytics software tools and help train junior team members on analytic best practices. Additionally, you'll apply practical judgment on how to deal with less-than-perfect data to hypothesize opportunities and help clients construct commercial pilots that validate value creation opportunities. You will help ensure that data and analytic models are embedded at clients. In particular, you will advise clients on how to adapt analytic models into their commercial system environments. Working with software engineers and product managers, you'll advance Sales Solutions software assets and you'll also work with our McKinsey Digital teams to leverage capabilities in third-party software. Furthermore, you'll develop and maintain standard analytical models and analytical approaches that can be re-used across clients, as well as analysis cases/demos environments highlighting specific use cases. You will have the opportunity to develop and codify industry-level insights/knowledge and identify new areas of application/use cases. Your success will be measured in the ability to deliver analysis and business changing insights to clients, as well as their ability to turn "one off" models into repeatable and more standard analytical approaches and models. * Advanced degree (MS, PhD) in Economics/ Mathematics/ Physics/Statistics/ Operations Research * 2-4 years of experience with advanced analytics and statistical techniques such as multivariate regression / predictive modeling, classification and regression tree (CART/CHAID), factor analysis, correspondence analysis, clustering, discriminant analysis, and Random Forest * Experience in driving sales excellence and using analytics to advance commercial outcomes * Experience designing and running "agile" analytics programs that prove business impact even in absence of well-structured data * Confidence dealing with less-than-perfect data (e.g., cleaning, fusing, extrapolating) * Experience in mixed modeling and working with big data techniques is desirable * Experience in probability theory, optimization techniques, and optimization algorithms * Familiarity with Advanced Analytics software tools (e.g. Python, R, SPSS, Alteryx) * Ability to identify implications and drive toward business recommendation * Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to present in clear and concise manner * Strong multi-tasking abilities, flexibility and patience in a fluid environment * Team oriented and collaborative approach in working across teams and clients * Passion for analytics and problem solving * Ability to travel up to 75% Mckinsey New York City NY
