The Information Security Analyst works under the guidance and direction of the Corporate VP of Information Technology and works closely with Systems Administrators and/or Network Administrators within CHC Corporate and Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas (BHSET) to provide assistance and coordinate security-related activities, and supports the Vice President of Regional Information Technology with assigned security tasks and projects.

Responsible for initial receipt of escalated reports related to cyber security, participating in cyber security incident response, network and firewall monitoring and management, and understanding application exploitation techniques. The Analyst will plan, implement, upgrade, and monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information, ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard key infrastructure components and provide a strategy to mitigate risk while maintaining intrusion containment. The analyst will work in coordination with facility and external resources in response to computer security incidents, breaches, and viruses.

In addition, this position supports CHCs Information Security/Privacy Officer, Associate Security Officer, and Security Vendor Business Partner/SOC and will be tasked with proactive vulnerability assessment, threat detection, forensic investigation support, and will support system deployments with security best practices.

This position utilizes one-on-one consultancy to technical resources and subject matter experts. Work is performed with little supervision and requires high levels of self motivation and self management. This position requires the ability to parallel task multiple projects or requests.

  • Monitor network/application traffic to enforce Information and Data Protection policies
  • Develop and maintain plans to safeguard PHI against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs
  • Firewall Rule Management
  • Audits EMR, Internet, Authentication etc.
  • HIPAA/Privacy and Risk Assessment
  • Review new projects and setups for security concerns and adherence to P&P
  • Point of Contact for Security Vendor Business Partner SOC and prioritizes vulnerabilities for organization
  • Evaluates patches and updates for relevance and criticality to the environment
  • Phishing testing and training with education follow ups and reporting
  • Sits on various committees within supported facilities and reports back to the IT Executive
  • Provide on-call technical support.
  • Upholds and supports the companys mission, goals, and objectives
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Experience and Education

  • Requires a degree in information security related field or the equivalent in education, certifications and related experience
  • 3-5 years experience with CISSP, GCIA, or CISA certification preferred
  • Healthcare related infosec experience preferred
