Position Title: Analyst III Finance

Position Location: Salisbury, NC or Quincy, MA or Carlisle, PA or Scarborough, ME

Position Summary:

This position provides advanced financial analysis and support to the Director and Managers of FP&A. Candidate will be expected to perform competently in all core finance disciplines noted below and will rotate between core finance areas as required based upon business needs. This position will also be responsible for the maintenance of the Essbase system used by Finance to compile, analyze, and report financial results. This position will ensure accuracy of data, complete information using standardized templates and support overall team in delivering Reporting and Planning deliverables.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Budget, Forecast and Latest Estimate processes

o Prepare submission templates, work with Finance teams across the Brands, RBS and Supply Chain to ensure timely submission and upload information in the budget system

o Work with partners across the business and accounting and finance to prepare information for projections

o Coordinate and support the Budget process

o Track financial results of procurement programs

  • Support period diagnostics

o Prepare period diagnostics and analytics for BIR and internal (EB) reviews

o Develop standardized templates to ensure an efficient reporting process (tables, waterfall graphs, trend lines, etc.)

  • Work on ad-hoc reporting as required

  • Provide insight to Strategic Initiative results and reporting

Requirements Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, economics, statistics, or related field

  • Retail experience is ideal

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint and financial systems. Power BI a plus

  • Strong finance and accounting acumen

  • Ability to communicate to multiple levels of the organization. Ability to translate technical accounting finance issues to non finance professionals

  • Able to quickly adapt to new ways of working and technology.

  • Patience to navigate a complex matrix organization

  • Ability to travel up to 10% or less

Position Title: Analyst III Metrics Position Location: Quincy, MA or Carlisle, PA Position Summary: Pipeline Analysts will work as part of the team which identifies prioritized opportunities for the Retail Innovation Center of Excellence (RI CoE) to pursue. The role will involve accessing various brand and ADUSA data systems to enable data analytics to provide insight into potential opportunities. This role will work to create opportunity heat maps to help identify areas of opportunity or pain points where greatest value to brands can be delivered. When ideas are identified in the Ideation and Prioritization phase of innovation, Pipeline Analysts will create estimates for the value of benefits that potential initiatives represent and estimates for cost to pilot and ultimately deploy the solution. The early analysis done on potential initiatives will influence which projects the RI CoE prioritizes, as well as inform budgets and targets for initiatives and the RI CoE. After ideas are identified as prioritized initiatives, Pipeline Analysts will also support Initiative Teams in providing access to data as needed to inform design decisions and to update total business value of in-flight initiatives as testing/pilot results are collected. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Create and Maintain Opportunity Heat Maps Supports idea generation through data driven insights and internal/external benchmarking * Navigate brand data systems to access updated data related to shrink, labor productivity, and other important value drivers for ADUSA * Work with data stewards from across ADUSA to understand differences in how data is recorded across brands (e.g. having a clear understanding of metric/variable definitions from different data systems) * Vet data quality and cleanliness, identify outliers, and understand nuances of data from different brands and be able to act as the expert on data interpretation for the entire RI CoE team * Analyze ADUSA data and perform benchmarking activities (both internal across our Brands, and external vs. peer companies) to highlight opportunities for innovation and opportunities to share best practices. * Work with ADUSA Data Engineering, Data Scientists, and AI teams to find opportunity areas * Assist in the creation and updating of opportunity heat maps' to inform prioritization of potential solutions to relieve pain points or address opportunity levers which drive high potential value for ADUSA * Work with Business Collaboration Manager to map brand pain points to opportunity heat map and other analyses to determine relative value of solving different brand/associate pain points 2. Support Scoping of Potential Ideas When ideas are selected for scoping, development of Scoping Documents and support analysis required to inform decisions when prioritizing scoped ideas and selecting which will be pursued as initiatives. * Work with CoE Innovation Pipeline Team members and IT resources to size expected benefits and costs to pilot and deploy potential solutions based on anticipated brand adoption in the Ideation and Prioritization stage of innovation * Develop evaluation criteria and quantifiable critical success factors for pilots by defining hypotheses of what must be proved to believe the value case. * Support the Innovation Pipeline Team and Initiative Teams in performing scenario analysis based on expected brand adoption of potential solutions * Collaborate with ADUSA finance on initiative value case and budgeting for RI CoE 3. Provide Data Access and Analytics Throughout Initiative Lifecycle As solutions evolve throughout an initiative's lifecycle, support Initiative Teams by providing updated ADUSA data and supporting analysis to update solution value case. * Assist Initiative Teams in updating initiative Scoping Documents by providing updated ADUSA data related to levers that the solution addresses * Assist Initiative Teams by performing analysis required to update impact to business/brands based on updated initiative features, results of in-store tests/pilots, initiative plan updates, and expected brand adoption 4.
