Position Summary:

This position will support and lead a wide variety of market research and customer insights related to primary and secondary projects, including analysis and dissemination to internal stakeholders. The successful candidate is expected to integrate the voice of the customer in the day-to-day tactics as well as the overall strategy of the Food Lion banner in order to support the decision-making process regarding product designs, prices, and promotions. The ideal candidate should be able to analyze autonomously qualitative and quantitative data, trends, strategies, and competition aiming at increasing the competitiveness of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Collecting and analyzing data on consumers, competitors and market place and consolidating information into actionable items, reports, and presentations

Analyzing and reporting eCommerce, web analytics, and panel reporting tools (Similarweb, Comscore, Hitwise, AWS, .etc).

Compile and analyze statistical data using modern and traditional methods to collect it

Perform a valid and reliable market research SWOT analysis

Interpret data, formulate reports and make recommendations

Use online web-based survey tools, including survey design, programming, management, and reporting of research projects.

Provide competitive analysis on various companies' market offerings, identify market trends, pricing/business models, sales and methods of operation

Requirements Basic Qualifications

3-6 years

BSC or above in business, social sciences or similar fields

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in research & data analytics

BSC or above in business, social sciences or similar fields


BSC or above in business, social sciences or similar fields


Market research, Analytics

Solid experience making data-driven strategic recommendations

Skills and Abilities:

Understanding of business objectives and designing surveys to discover prospective and existing customers' preferences

Demonstrated experience in using analytical software

  • Excel, SPSS or other similar applications - and presentation tools

  • PowerPoint/Tableau

Ability to manage third-party research partnerships and negotiate costs for foundational and ad hoc research programs

Excellent communication skills.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

Strong presentation skills. Good knowledge of Alltryx, Power BI, Qualtrics, .etc.

Coordinate the development of the perishable merchandising planner in support of weekly Ad. Serve as the single point of contact between perishable category and commercial planning teams. Duties and Responsibilities: Support perishable display planning and ad development within Category, Merchandising and Pricing (CMP) as it relates to the strategies and initiatives. Track, analyze and report out on weekly ad performance and financial goals. Partners with Category, Marketing and pricing teams to deliver display planning for all key elements of Thematic Planning and Merchandising. Responsible for developing the weekly Merchandising Planner and effective communication of Merchandising Planner to Category teams and Retail Operations. Collaborate with Perishable Merchandising teams to deliver weekly communication of perishable merchandising plans. Conduct regular visits with retail leaders, distribution partners, perishable merchandising teams and field merchandising teams to best understand and respond to needs/opportunities. Follow-up on execution of merchandising programs and strategies. Coordinate displaying of cross-merchandising events: i.e. stock up and save, buy this get that. Provide support for motivating peers and function as an effective promoter of change and growth. Provide support for the implementation of a continuous improvement culture. Serve as a member of key teams and committees as needed. Responsible for the development, talent planning and performance management of self. Requirements Basic Qualifications: Knowledge of Fresh and/or Center Store categories. Experience in leading projects and influencing consensus.
