Position Summary:

The Analyst is responsible for providing financial and analytical support to the Facilities, HR, Engineering, and Innovation groups. The analyst will maintain budget/forecasting models and support schedules; evaluate business costs related to hundreds of contractual agreements as well as prepare associated finance summaries; and regularly conduct ad hoc analyses.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development and maintenance of annual departmental budgets, recurring forecasts, and long range plans.

  • Maintain detailed schedules for each department of specific types of budgeted expenses, and add and remove as necessary per contract renewals and/or terminations of contracts.

  • Along with manager, meet with business owners to identify objectives and projects and associated costs.

  • Track spending on budgeted projects and, in particular, capital expenditures on a project and task basis.

  • Support the preparation and distribution of quarterly financial results reports to key executives.

  • Continually evaluate risks and opportunities.

  • Prepare financial impact analyses to evaluate new initiatives, programs, and capital investments.

  • Prepare financial summaries for various contracts and capital purchase requests. Comprehend and translate sometimes technical projects/agreements and prepare a concise, easily understandable summary for executive management. Participate in discussions with business owners to understand the project. Assess if the agreement makes economic sense and explain the financial justifications and research/provide comparison pricing. Identify key risk factors and drivers that have a financial impact.

  • Identify and recommend contractual improvements and capital payment terms and implement same with business owners.

  • Support the monthly close process by reviewing actuals and ensuring all expenses are booked properly. Prepare the monthly variance analysis (actual vs. budget).

  • Prepare the 6 month rolling cash forecast for business groups supported.

  • Prepare trending analyses and in-depth assessments of costs as requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA or 2 to 3 years relevant work experience preferred

  • Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Candidate must be a self-starter and have excellent analytical, communication and quantitative skills.

Requirements and General

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast paced environment

  • Strong financial analysis and quantitative skills; close attention to detail and fact checking

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including spelling, grammar, and proofreading

  • Ability to develop relationships across various functions and departments and at all levels.

  • Must be resourceful and think creatively on finding solutions for potential cost savings

  • Results oriented; shows initiative and follow through on projects while still working collaboratively with Finance team members and business owners

  • Ability to project a professional image over the phone and in person

  • Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles

  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Technical Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Excel a must.

  • Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Access)

  • Knowledge/familiarity of Oracle or other accounting software tools

Who we're looking for Toyota Financial Services' (TFS) Business Intelligence (BI) Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Finance Systems Analyst. The person in this role is responsible for creation and maintenance of metadata for TFS' financial reporting systems, including SAP, Hyperion Financial Management, Hyperion Planning, Essbase and other financial systems. This role will manage the Chart of Accounts and other metadata updates identified in the monthly Financial Systems Maintenance process. Reporting to the Factory Owner, Financial Master Data & Governance, this Senior Analyst will work closely with other BI groups (including Enterprise Data Management (EDM), Reporting and Analytics, etc.) and TFS business partners to continuously improve TFS' financial data and master data assets to strengthen and enhance TFS' SOX adherence. What you'll be doing 1. Financial Master Data Management Subject Mater Expert * Taking Factory Owner's lead, manage the monthly Financial System Maintenance process from validating requirements, identifying and resolving issues and successfully implementing enhancements * Actively manage SAP Master Data Maintenance (MDM) and Oracle's Hyperion Data Relationship Management application and apply best practices * Responsible for SAP Master Data creation and maintenance (Accounts, Dept IDs, Projects, Products, Business Units * Responsible for the mapping tables between SAP and downstream Hyperion applications * Responsible for the mapping tables from source systems to SAP. * Strongly advocate leveraging TFS's technical assets to achieve business goals * Build strong cross-organizational relationships; Responsible for participating in office hours to streamline requests and support creation of the Financial System Maintenance (FSM) summary used in the primary metadata build * Responsible for documenting the workflow of each of our systems upstream and downstream to understand impacts of each change requested * Responsible for documenting process flows with developers for multiple financial systems * Display a work style that exhibits high energy, strategic thinking, collaboration, direct communication and results orientation * Partner heavily and influence without authority * Communicate heavily at all levels of the organization * Present and explain information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others and promotes understanding and consensus building 2.
