The Distribution Analyst is responsible for supporting Distribution and Commercial personnel, in the management of ticketing, contract activity, and ensuring that transactions and agreements are processed in a timely and accurate manner. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for contract documentation and filing.

  • Assists Contract Management, Legal, and Commercial personnel in agreement documents.

  • Works closely with, and in support of, functional disciplines, to ensure timely, thorough, and accurate agreement sign-off.

  • Follow-up to ensure functional department language sign-off.

  • Follow-up to ensure business partner timely response.

  • Maintains contract status log.

  • Scan and/or enter contracts and other necessary documentation into contract management system (Live-Link and Contract Data Management System).

  • Preparation of format-perfect contract documents.

  • Maintains contract files in orderly, easy-to-retrieve hard-copy and electronic-copy modes.

  • Purges files of dated and/or extraneous documents.

  • Maintains compliance with records retention policies.

  • Responds to requests from internal and external customers; seeking higher authority as necessary.

  • Research contract terms for Accounting and Operations, as requested.

  • Answers questions from customers regarding invoices.

  • Assist Accounts Receivable personnel:

  • Follow-up with business partners/research late payments.

  • Provide AIR with contract terms and backup info.

  • Review Volume Accounting monthly Gross Margin reports, to ensure accuracy of rates charged, volumes, against contract obligations.

  • Follow-up as directed by Contract Coordinator and/or Commercial.

  • Provide support to Distribution, Commercial, Legal, Management, and other departmental functions as necessary.

  • Learn the basics of the pipeline business from others in the assigned area.

  • Assist group with ticketing and forensic accounting support.

  • Participate in meetings with the Schedulers and/or Coordinators.

  • Prepare System Balance and Ticket reconciliation reports.

  • Serve as a back-up for the Distribution Coordinator or Scheduler roles in the group.

  • General assistance for others as needed.

  • Work schedule will include extended hours during monthly closing process, and as needed for ticketing support.

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Energy Industry related studies.

  • Minimum of three years of experience in contracts, accounting, or paralegal position is preferred.

  • Oil and gas industry experience, in a contract administration role, is preferred.

  • Must have the ability to learn and understanding energy contract terms, concepts, terminology, and standards.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point with ability to format contracts (TOC, font, grammar, section numbering, etc.) is required.

  • Knowledge of other Microsoft applications, scanning software and Outlook preferred.

  • Attention to formatting, grammatical, spelling, and table of contents details is essential.

  • Ability to multi-task and prepare correspondence and other documents with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both verbally and in writing, with functional departmental personnel and external customers is required.

  • Must be able to read, understand, and "mine" contracts associated with activity.

  • Understanding of, and demonstrated ability to grasp, energy business issues and processes, including Commercial & Technical aspects. Ability to aggregate disparate pieces of information and coalesce into a coherent and achievable strategy is required.

  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, strong personal initiative, effective time management skills, and be detail-oriented yet able to grasp the big picture in order to develop knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill job responsibilities in an independent, proficient, and thorough manner.

  • Individual must focus upon "doing more" rather than limiting role to definition.
