Purpose and Job Summary
The Analyst is responsible for processing all disbursement and swing requests submitted by the mortgage servicing departments as well as other cash disbursement related tasks. This position will communicate frequently with the treasury team members, corporate accounting and other members of the mortgage servicing and asset management departments to accomplish its duties. Additional support is provided to treasury team when needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Process incoming disbursements for tax, insurance, MIP, reverses and suspense.
Process incoming swings submitted by tax, insurance, and MIP departments.
Enter and/or release outgoing ACHs and wires for disbursements.
Printing and mailing of disbursements checks.
Close out reserves in Strategy as requested.
Research returned checks to resolve.
Research and deposit checks to lockbox and operating accounts.
Verify if checks have been cleared per request.
Calculate final interest on reserve close outs.
Process stop payments upon request.
Maintain strict compliance with company policies and procedures as well as all federal, state, and local statutes and regulatory requirements.
Provide overall support to team and/or management as time permits.
Ensure that all training needs, both technical and interpersonal, are met in a timely manner.
Participate in special projects as requested.
Contacts
This position has frequent contact with all levels of employees and management. In addition, this role may interact with outside business partners, vendors, consultants, and other office visitors.
Education, Skills & Experience
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or equivalent experience preferred.
Must be proficient in navigating a bank's website and financial software.
Experience cash handling or accounting experience in a high-volume setting
Precision in managing many sets of interlinking numbers; cash balancing skills.
Proficient with Microsoft applications.
Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and people skills.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and to use discretion in the performance of daily activities.
Flexibility and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and constant interruptions; Ability to adjust priorities in a changing environment.
Professional business image and excellent command of the English language, both verbally and in writing (spelling, grammar, and punctuation).
