Job Summary


Interstate Hotels and Resorts is currently seeking a well-qualified and motivated individual for the position of Analyst, FP&A. As part of the Financial Planning and Analysis and Corporate Treasury group the individual will provide proactive, timely, accurate and clear analysis. The individual will contribute to the preparation of the Interstate Hotels & Resorts corporate forecast/model by incorporating revenue and expenses forecasts, analyzing variances to forecast and projections, preparing supporting schedules, and ad hoc reports and analysis. The individual will collaborate with other departments including Accounting, Treasury, Operations, and Development and operate quickly and effectively.


  • Assist in the budgeting, forecasting and monthly variance analysis. This function includes monthly reconciliation to Accounting's financials and requires understanding of financial statements.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly/weekly KPI's and financial reporting packages.

  • Identify, analyze and track financial and operational trends and work with key groups to identify actionable solutions.

  • Complete special projects and ad hoc analysis as required.

  • Assist Treasury in cash flow analysis as needed.

Knowledge and Skills:

Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related required

Experience: 0 - 1 year experience in finance, investment analysis or similar function.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong analytical thought process and problem solving skills. Detailed oriented and respective of deadlines.

Common App is currently searching for a Director, Financial Planning &amp; Analysis.</p> <p>The Director, Financial Planning &amp; Analysis (FP&amp;A) is responsible for managing day-to-day organization planning and analysis activities that include the development and implementation of scalable policies, processes and tools which will deliver optimum operations of the organization’s financial planning and analysis department. The position serves as a valued business partner to executive and senior management leaders by providing financial management support including the preparation and presentation of plans (budgets/forecasts), regular management reporting and analysis of actual results, and the alignment of business analytics with the company’s strategic objectives, while ensuring those areas operate efficiently and effectively within company policies. The director oversees monthly close process in partnership with the accounting team and functional department owners, with a strong focus on accuracy of results, timeliness of reporting and actionable insights delivered to the business and develops and implements financial analysis techniques, tool and concepts and to extend finance-based decision-making throughout the organization. Additionally, this role leads both the short and long-term company-wide integrated budgeting &amp; forecasting processes to create meaningful financial outlooks that guide the company and drive the achievement of financial and operational objectives and provides meaningful variance analysis, comparing financial results with all relevant comparison points provide a narrative to bring the numbers to life and drive action.</p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>Candidates for this role must possess a bachelor’s degree, or higher, in finance, accounting, economics or related field and CPA; Master’s degree, CFA or equivalent certification is preferred. Candidate’s should possess at least ten years of experience progressive financial planning and analysis experience, preferably in a similar non-profit, marketplace businesses and/or transactional (one-time) revenue streams of $30 million or greater. Ideal candidates will possess five or more years of financial planning and analysis management experience and direct leadership role with proven leadership in developing industry “best practices” in financial planning and reporting infrastructure. Experience using financial systems to prepare and manage budgets and forecasts is required, including the ability to develop and maintain a comprehensive financial projection model; strong understanding of GAAP, keen attention to detail and excel fluency with strong financial modeling, are key for this role.
