The Analyst is responsible for the effective management, disposition and underwriting of real estate assets. The successful candidate will be exposed to a wide range of commercial real estate investment strategies in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in the preparation of asset-level recommendations for senior management

  • Prepare strategic plans for assigned properties and contribute to overall portfolio plans

  • Build and maintain property valuation models using Excel and ARGUS

  • Produce asset-level reporting on a periodic basis

  • Assist in the engagement and direction of third-party property managers in development and implementation of operating budgets including capital and leasing plans

  • Prepare regular update reports on asset performance for senior management

  • Assist in the underwriting and due diligence of new CRE investment opportunities

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong modeling skills (Excel and Argus)

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related area preferred

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of direct commercial real estate industry experience and/or finance experience required

  • Prior experience with Argus a plus

Other Skills:

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge, including ability to summarize data via formulas, lookups, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting, etc.

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment

  • This position's hours vary depending on business activity

  • This position does not require frequent travel, less than 10%. Travel would be domestic

The Financial Analyst supports tenant advisory and landlord advisory leasing brokers with the financial analysis of leasing and investment properties, preparation of market comparable/demographic analyses, designs/builds and maintains excel financial models for cash flow analyses, and provides financial analysis support for Broker Opinion of Value and Property Offering memorandums. It is also the responsibility of the Financial Analyst not only to exhibit legendary customer service when communicating with tenants, prospective tenants, owners and vendors but also focus on productivity, accuracy and results with clear and effective communication. RESPONSIBILITIES * Preparation of long term cash flow projections for leases, subleases, acquisition and disposition utilizing Procalc, Excel, Argus and other valuation and cash flow programs. * Preparation of cash flows for tenant advisory and landlord advisory teams and providing analysis for occupancy cost, remaining lease obligation, break-even analysis, lease buyout and other adhoc analyses. * Assist in the preparation of Offering Memorandums Analyze financial terms of prospective deals including debt requirement, return expectations, IRR, NPV, yields with respect to hold periods, etc. * Compilation and analysis of market and lease information. Analyze present rent comparable data. * Ensure the timely production, accuracy and quality of work product and compliance with national standards * Help review Tenant financials to determine creditworthiness of prospective Tenants. * Attend presentation, pitches and meetings as needed. * Create forecasting and benchmarking metrics and models. * Understanding of GAAP and new FASB accounting rules that relates to real estate leases preferred. POSITION REQUIREMENTS * MBA degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline is required. * A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in real estate finance or investment banking transactions servicing institutional clients. * Financial modeling expertise Computer proficient, including knowledge in the following programs: Procalc, Argus, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and related market data programs. * Strong analytical, writing and organizational skills. * Strong marketing, presentation and communications skills. * Thorough understanding of real estate valuation techniques and utilization of valuation programs, including Procalc and Argus. * Ability to format and source market data for investment and offering memoranda. * Strong analytical, writing and organizational skills. * Ability to multi task and juggle multiple projects. * Ability to produce quality work in a fast-paced environment. * Ability to manage large workloads. * Team Oriented. * Strong presentation skills. * Ability to establish strong interpersonal relationships with clients and project team members. * Stays abreast of current market conditions, practices, trends and factors that impact real estate markets.
