Full-time position available with the Water Department, Supply Division located at 4800 E. 63rd St.

Salary Range: $4,619-$6,928/month

Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and analyzes data and other information to evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of departmental programs and activities, and procedures.

  • Makes recommendations to promote effective and economic operations.

  • Develops, writes, and edits new and revised policies and procedures,

  • Assists with reviewing project proposals and planning projects, including determining objectives, establishing work plans and determining time frames, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements and allotment to various phases of project management.

  • Consults with internal clients to ascertain and define need or problem area.

  • Determines scope for designing successful interventions.

  • Assists with the preparation of presentations, analyses, policy manuals and other projects.

  • Assists with reporting systems, data maintenance, data collection, data decimation portfolio maintenance, billing and reimbursement.

  • Applies statistical techniques to assist in problem solving.

  • Reviews project proposals, establish work plans and determine time frames, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements and allotment to various phases of project management.

  • Applies data analysis techniques.

  • Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

REQUIRES an accredited Master's degree in public or business administration, urban or regional planning, economics, organizational psychology/development, project management, or geography; OR an accredited Bachelor's degree and 1 year of professional experience in public or business administration, corporate/municipal finance, research, accounting, planning, project/program management or geographical information system analytics. Preference given to candidates with at least 1 year of experience developing reports in PowerBI or Tableau.

Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.

Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
