Please note: This position can be remote, however preference is at our AZ of FL location.

The Business Intelligence Analyst will play an integral role in the Center of Process and Program Excellence (CPPE). This position will partner with the Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to support the identification of key performance metrics, building dashboards, and ensuring that improvements to the business are driven by data. The incumbent will support centralized survey creation, distribution, and analysis; using survey data to determine trends, make recommendations, and present data in a consumable format to drive decisions and fuel future project initiatives. The incumbent will utilize business data and statistical methods from various sources to provide insight into business performance and suggest areas for and methods of improving operations. The Business Intelligence Analyst will assist in the implementation of analytical methodologies, the interpretation of results, and the collection and analysis of external market data to provide benchmarks for comparison purposes.

Role Responsibilities

  • Identify key performance metrics, build dashboards and ensure that improvements to the business are driven by data.

  • Support centralized survey creation, distribution, and analysis. Use data to determine trends, make recommendations, and present data in a consumable format to drive decisions and fuel future project initiatives.

  • Help identify business, technology, and process improvement opportunities to drive the development, and use, of Data Analytics throughout the organization.

  • Execute full life cycle: Requirements analysis, data collection, report development, data validation, system testing, and provide ad hoc analysis support.

  • Help define, evaluate, and analyze success metrics for various campaigns, trials, projects, and tests.

  • Work with stakeholders to formulate scope and objectives for new Business Intelligence (BI) initiatives/projects. Define project requirements by identifying key deliverables, phases and acceptance criteria and translate those requirements into BI solutions.

  • Work with the development teams and/or vendor to develop resource estimates for BI work.

  • Prototype data models, reports and dashboards.

  • Build relational data structures, including relationships between tables, grouping data, and following steps to perform analysis.

  • Manipulate and analyze data in a variety of formats (e.g., Excel, SQL, etc.).

  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams successful data mining and analytics activities are conducted.

  • Generate insights from various data sources to identify patterns, opportunities, challenges, and strengths. Reach concrete conclusions supported by facts.

  • Participate in special projects or perform other duties as requested.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Role Requirements

Education

  • Undergraduate degree (4-year degree) in a quantitative field such as, information systems, math, statistics, economics, finance required.

Experience

  • 3-5 years experience in a relational database system such as SQL Server or oracle required.

  • 2-4 years of experience with data analytics and data mining tools/applications required.

  • Strong analytic skills required.

  • 3-5 years experience with Excel with analysis and reporting.

  • Programming course work and/or hands-on programming experience required.

  • Tableau or Qlik Sense/Qlik View preferred.

This function includes identifying the initial concepts or reported issues, assessing the impact of change, developing specific work-efforts, capturing and documenting requirements, developing end-user engagement work products with an effective communication plan. The Analytics Business Specialist will also perform a subject matter expert ("SME") role in larger formalized end-user engagement projects or initiatives. You will work closely with internal and external end-users to analyze and translate information between assigned business and operational teams, to align needs with the current or future capabilities delivered thru PSCU Member Insight solutions. The Analytics Business Specialist reports to applicable Analytics Program Manager. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: * Well rounded knowledge of PSCU analytics data delivery solutions and effectively champion and promote analytic tools, methods and conceptual approaches by demonstrating paths to improved business intelligence, and decision making. * Utilizing strong research or technical skills to conduct business or industry-wide analysis of current and emerging best practices that support or bolster analytic engagement. * Successfully define and execute within product life-cycle and iterative design processes for new work products (reports, educational assets, engagement techniques). * Active participant in a formal projects to produce project definition/initiation document clearly defining scope and project objectives; elicit, document and prioritize business requirements, understand business risks, and transition from requirements to solutions and business implementation principles (as assigned) * Collect, evaluate and compress data and information from multiple sources, elicit actual user needs, and document a new concepts or remediation plan. * Ability to construct a basic process model and gather requirements for new process and conceptual data flows. * Develop use cases and execute test scripts for user acceptance testing processes. * Identify, develop and support business implementation and readiness tasks, mitigating risk and remediating end-user adoption hurdles. * Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats with all levels of the organization while exhibiting strong conflict resolution skills for maintaining diplomatic relations with all stakeholders. * Comply, explain, and comport oneself appropriately with internal staff, clients and vendors in regards to consumer privacy, intellectual property protection, and confidential communications. * Must have an in depth understanding of the product to understand and respond to user needs in rapidly changing business environments. Requirements: * Minimum 5 years within the payments industry required * Minimum 2 years Business Analysis experience required * Minimum 2 years of experience with data delivery or analytic tools preferred * Understanding of customer engagement / service principles preferred * Demonstrates a basic commercial awareness of the credit union and financial services industries and the role of processors, payment networks, and major aspects of the payments ecosystem including card management, card and ACH transactions, rewards, fraud mitigation. Comprehensive knowledge of one or more of the noted subject areas is preferred. * Proven track record demonstrating strong analytical reasoning, problem solving and quantitative skills. * Foundational experience with SAP Business Objects Web Intelligence, and demonstrated ability to create visualized reporting, required. * Proven ability to manage multiple work-streams, achieve set goals, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and evolving work environment. * Proven self-starter skills and the ability to work effectively in a matrix or cross-functional team environment. * Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats with internal staff, clients staff (typically Business Analysts, Data Owners, Data Delivery Solution Owners, business and operational staff) through interviews or indirect channels. * Ability to utilize personal computer, telephone, facsimile, copier, calculator and other general office equipment. * Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in making decisions and interact effectively and positively with all levels of personnel, credit unions and vendors. * Some travel may be required.
