The Team: We are currently looking for an analyst within North America to join S&P Global Commodity Insights' dynamic biofuels team.

The biofuels research team is part of the Agribusiness & Commodities division at S&P Global Commodity Insights. This team is responsible for generating insights of the biofuels market globally and for creating short and long-term views on biofuels supply, demand and pricing. The agribusiness group offers data and research solutions on major crops and food commodities, fertilizers, biofuels, crop science and animal health.

The Role: We are seeking a biofuels specialist able to support our customer base on decarbonization strategies to successfully transition into sustainable fuel.

These include researching, gathering data and developing insights on current market trends, regulatory frameworks, risks and opportunities for the industry. Biofuels is the most relevant low carbon fuel having an impact in the road transportation sector and have been used to reduce greenhouse gas emissions for decades. Over the past few years, the biofuels industry has seen tremendous growth amid increasing efforts to decarbonize the energy sector.

More specifically, responsibilities include:

  • Take a key role in furthering biofuels research focused in North America, including policy and trade developments, forecasting biofuels prices, supply & demand.

  • Act as a subject matter expert for the biofuels market, contributing to a wide range of S&P Global Commodity Insights publications covering topics such as biofuels prices, supply & demand, margins, mandates, trade and other pertinent issues.

  • Manage, maintain and enhance pertinent models and databases.

  • Create charts, graphs and other visual content that illustrates the trends SPGCI customers need to follow.

  • Articulate expertise and thought leadership through a variety of media including podcasts, webinars, video, and speaking engagements.

  • Customer oriented mindset, maintain and further develop meaningful business relationships with stakeholders in the global biofuels markets.

Your Qualifications:

  • Five years market related experience. Additional experience in other markets, e.g., energy, agricultural commodities, refined products, would be advantageous.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate across a wide range of groups and personalities internally and externally.

  • Experience in modelling, forecasting and quantitative analysis would be advantageous.

  • BA Degree in relevant field e.g., Economics, Business, International Affairs, Statistics preferred.

  • Innovative thinking and proactive behavior, able to work effectively and efficiently within a flexible global team environment.

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $72,800 - 104,303. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
