Job Description:

Within the Institutional Client Business, we pride ourselves on creating, communicating, and delivering investment solutions to clients. We have teams of professionals with expertise in the many functions that make this effort successful and sustainable, including relationship management, marketing, sales, client service, and product development and management. The Middle Market Pensions Team is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with both corporate and public pension plans.


  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with middle market pension clients

  • Anticipating client needs and prompt responses to client inquiries

  • Cultivating an awareness of client specific investment and operational priorities and sensitivities

  • Developing expertise in our client's industry dynamics and trend as well as their specific positioning

  • Learning fundamentals of pension related dynamics, including regulatory and accounting trends

  • Supporting new business and product development, including:

  • Developing knowledge of BlackRock products and services

  • Initiating and designing client specific solutions

  • Supporting implementation, including account set up, guideline development and establishing service needs

  • Coordinating day-to-day delivery of BlackRock's asset management and associated services, including:

  • Accurate and timely client reporting

  • Preparation for and participation in client market and portfolio reviews

  • Design, ownership, and delivery of complex and/or ad hoc client requests

  • Managing portfolio compliance to client guidelines

  • Engaging BlackRock's capabilities and organization on behalf of our clients

(*As of December 31, 2018) Job Purpose (Job Summary): Reporting into North America Client Solutions, the Client Solutions Associate will support the Invesco Investment Solutions Client Strategists by building Institutional-level collateral as well as partnering with distribution teams to help present solutions that best meet our clients' broad needs. The role will require a high level of written and verbal communication skills as well as strong data manipulation skills and a strong work ethic. The Client Solutions Associate will leverage the broad investment and risk modeling capabilities of the Invesco group to deliver portfolio diagnostics and create custom investment solutions. Key Responsibilities / Duties: * Build strong working relationships with the investment and product teams across Invesco to best address our institutional clients' broader needs with a Solutions focus * Support client strategists in partnering with distribution teams to respond to clients' investment needs quickly and effectively, incorporating expertise in asset allocation, portfolio construction and risk management * Develop and maintain expertise on capabilities across asset classes and vehicles within Invesco, including factor investing, real assets, hedge funds, portfolio construction and liability-driven investing * Build institutional level collateral for both marketing and client presentations and support team members in preparation for client meetings and presentations * Prepare portfolio diagnostics using Invesco's risk and portfolio construction tool or other internal and external data sources. Create visually appealing data presentations * Work with client strategists to clearly communicate with colleagues, clients and other interested parties on matters relevant to Investment Solutions * Develop the ability to formulate & communicate views on a variety of investment topics & across multiple asset classes, enabling the team to respond to industry developments in a timely & comprehensive manner. * Contributing to the successful positioning of the organization & overall client experience * Engage with those producing high-level thought leadership content in various formats (e.g., video, written, audio) for institutional audiences to support the Solutions business * Prepare materials, presentations and reports to provide regular communication updates to key internal constituents * Work closely with product management and the RFP team to deliver RFPs, RFIs, consultant questionnaire responses; * Coordinate with internal teams (e.g. global and regional product teams, compliances, legal, sales, and investment performance analysis, etc.) to draft, edit and review * Drive strategic projects by working in conjunction with internal business partners * Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with Portfolio Managers, Product Managers, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Compliance and many other departments to manage the various business-related functions of the team.
