Need someone who has the ability to manage multiple objectives at one time, fast paced, quick thinking, cool under pressure.

Reviews MRP and ensures timely and accurate planning/scheduling of product to support the plan. Develops and monitors detailed, achievable production schedules. Maintains accuracy of scheduling system from initial input of work order data through on-going maintenance, to completion and closure.

Proposes modification to planning guidelines as needed to provide for minimum inventory investment consistent with production objectives and constraints imposed by the manufacturing process.

Recommends process improvements to Planning process/system that are not in-line with the current requirements of OPS. Able to lead a Planning process improvement team with guidance.

Participates fully in a multi-functional process improvement teams and represents Plannings interest in process These would include CI teams as well as System upgrade teams such as Everest.

Initiates action plans to prevent occurrence of problems which may delay timely planning, and follows up on their completion.

Maintains accuracy of assigned data fields in material planning system

Keeps abreast of the basic requirements for compliance in own area of work and complies with those requirements. Participates as required in training on regulatory issues affecting own area of work. Brings regulatory compliance questions/issues to the attention of management.

This position will be located at the Rancho Carmel Facility in San Diego, CA. Our expertise is in delivering complex equipment to enable modern battlefields and support aviation missions. Our focus is on the world of avionics, radio, and electronic warfare product application to enable networked communications. As part of the corporation's business focus area on Communications, we are the 'equipment providers.' Our team of communication systems experts is developing next-generation ground radios for land forces, and our Electronic Warfare subject matter experts are creating the next generation of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) countermeasures to keep our soldiers safe when in harm's way. Roles and Responsibilities: * Materials Planning, Production Scheduling supporting all programs at A&TN * Establish and maintain build plans for production programs, based on program contract requirements * Ensure the health and accuracy of requirements data in SAP/MRP * Define the acquisition requirements for material to meet set schedules, and tracking/managing status to need. * Manage and eliminate root cause of shortages * Responsible for the on time start and completions of internal builds * Manage departmental metrics * Develop manpower plans * Develop BOEs for new and ongoing proposals * Facilitate employee hiring, development and training needed to meet projected program demands * Manage indirect budgets and direct material budgets for multiple programs * Material cost reduction initiatives * Manage material acquisition to meet program milestones (PBPs) as required. * Champion and drive process improvements across all areas of responsibility Basic Qualifications: * Bachelors in Business, Supply Chain, or related field. * Bachelors degree with 5 years of experience or 3 years of experience with a Masters degree. * Training in Six Sigma and/or Lean principles with application to materials, manufacturing, engineering and business process improvement * Experience and knowledge of modern material acquisition process and operations * Must be proficient in Excel. * Able to communicate and collaborate with both customers and team members * Have broad understanding of manufacturing and test processes from receiving through inspections, manufacturing, test, shipping, and billing * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance * Effective communication skills * Prior experience with functional and personnel management of teams Preferred Qualifications: * Analytical ability to review data for trends and opportunities for process improvement * Computer skills including all Microsoft office tools and SAP * Experience MRP/ERP tools applied in a manufacturing environment * Possesses an active Secret Clearance * Experience with FAR, DFAR and MMAS requirements * A balanced understanding of the engineering and manufacturing processes * Ability to work in a fast paced environment * Experience in electronics manufacturing is a plus * Experience with SAP/R3 * Functional and personnel management of teams >15 people Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
