GREAT CONSULTING OPPORTUNITY FOR A BUSINESS ANALYST TO WORK AT A PRESTIGIOUS INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT COMPANY (LOS ANGELES, CA)

Solugenix is assisting a client, a prestigious investment management company, in their search for a Business Analyst. This is a 12 Months Contract opportunity that may extend up to 18 months and will be based out of Los Angeles, CA. This position will pay anywhere between $52-62/Hour. Ideal candidate will have strong Investment Reports Experience.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining.

  • Designs, develops, implements and maintains business solutions.

  • Works directly with clients and project and business leaders to identify analytical requirements.

  • Requires 4-6 years of experience.

  • Work with business operational units gathering requirements to reporting needs.

  • Build automated data solutions using languages and tools such as SQL, Tableau/Alteryx, (Python, R are nice to have), SSRS (should have experience), VBA (nice to have), etc.

  • Related experience in Investment Management industry and data concepts (Portfolio Characteristics, Performance, Attribution, Fixed Income, etc.) - is ideal to have financial/banking/insurance knowledge Guide and direct associates in delivering reporting solutions for business operational units.

  • Plan, contribute, and sign-off on user acceptance tests for production deployment.

  • Proactively and Independently communicate with business stakeholders and key department members.

  • Work with complex data structures and provide innovative ways to solution for data delivery requirements.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with business requirements; preferably with Performance, Results, and Portfolio reporting

  • Excellent problem solving skills and intellectual curiosity

  • High service orientation, integrity, and ownership of work

  • Strong communication skills; Interpersonal savvy and an ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Some experience with related systems (e.g., FactSet Portfolio Analysis, MorningStar Direct, BI-SAM B-One, Tableau, Business Objects, or Crystal); Excellent MS Excel skills (e.g., functions, charting, and pivot tables)

Job Summary The Business Analyst I acts as the liaison between the development team and business clients for gathering and defining requirements, coordinating design sessions, creating process/data flow diagrams, generating reports and documenting project efforts. This position supports the development and implementation of new business intake processes to be used at the enterprise level and continue to monitor the usage of intakes and enhancements. This position is responsible for the department vendor contracting, management and oversight to ensure all services are delivered and completed at a high quality and in a timely manner. This position is responsible for identifying and resolving barriers and challenges and evaluating or reevaluating products, services, and vendors. Duties Act as a liaison between the department and business units by opening and maintaining lines of communication to monitor and improve business unit satisfaction with department, providing a single point of contact for business units into the department and acts as a conduit between internal stakeholders, making recommendations for product enhancements, and managing business unit expectations. Elicit, analyze, validate, specify, verify and manage the requirements of the project from all stakeholders. Work with other departments to summarize business insights. Translate business needs, processes and/or procedures by partnering with applicable experts (SME) and business stakeholders to determine and articulate the needs. Participate in business process modeling sessions, acting as a documentarian or co-facilitator. Responsible for validating data accuracy and ensuring that data is reflected accurately in the system. Conduct interviews and perform analysis to create business cases for projects. Conduct preliminary investigation for all project requests. Review requirements, specifications, test, support and training plans to ensure they are in line with business objectives on projects. Participate in business process management group efforts to collect and analyze metrics and continually improve processes owned by the group. Participate in root cause analysis to recommend enhancements or other appropriate actions to improve productivity for both the business units and department. Communicate with higher level analysts regarding gathering and defining requirements, attending design sessions, creating process/data flow diagrams and documenting project efforts. Monitor inbound and outbound encounter submission activities and identify aberrancies. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Required Associate's Degree In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered. Education Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration or Related Field Experience Required: At least 4 years of data analysis experience in the managed care or healthcare environment. Skills Required: Strong problem-solving/ analysis skills. Proficient skills in PC and database management (including Microsoft Excel, Access, and Visio). Ability to develop and work with complex databases. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
