Here's your chance to work as part of a dynamic and challenging engineering team on the latest semiconductor technology within the Analog Technology Development team.

The ATD team creates world-class manufacturing technologies by:

  • Developing new process platforms with step-function improvements in performance and cost

  • Extending roadmap process technologies with new features, models and reduced costs

  • Creating innovative, breakthrough technologies for new markets and new products

Primary and Secondary Responsibilities.

Intern / Co-Op projects will involve identifying, developing, characterizing, and improving unit processes and associated materials to meet program requirements for newest generation devices. Students are often involved with the development of new or modified process formulations, definition of processing or handling equipment requirements and specifications, review of processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication and evaluation of semiconductors. Interns / Co-Ops often review product requirements with staff to ensure compatibility of processing methods. Some projects involve recommending and preparing changes, additions, and modifications which will facilitate manufacturing. Students may have the opportunity to compile and evaluate data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications. Interns / Co-Ops may also conceive and plan projects involving definition and selection of new concepts and approaches in the processing or development of new processes in photomasking, etch, deposition, wafer fabrication, and device physics. Students may be involved with process characterization and integration. These projects could support integration teams in addressing yield and parametric issues or efforts to prototype and evaluate new devices and designs.

Some student projects also involve process ownership, including lot disposition, statistical process control, engineering changes and tool releases.

Complex Tasks Challenge will be balancing tasks and managing priorities during the Co-Op term

Must be able to manage work assignments independently. Will manage many tasks at once. Need to be able to identify and manage priorities.

Will work with many groups to accomplish tasks and work effectively.

Projects and Deliverables: This is a Co-op position that requires knowledge of semiconductor processing.

Special work environment:

Cleanroom will require work in a fab environment

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a PhD indegree in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, physics, or electrical engineering including classwork and/or research focus in semiconductors or related area (other disciplines hired on a limited basis)

  • Strong knowledge/understanding of unit processes used in semiconductor manufacturing

  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor device physics and circuits

  • Minimum Cumulative 3.0 GPA

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Hands-on experience with semiconductor fabrication equipment and processes.

  • Proficient with MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JMP or other statistical analysis software.

  • Knowledgeable in statistical process control.

  • Sound decision-making capabilities and the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt accordingly
