What You Will Be Doing:

Have overall responsibility for assigned underwriting unit. Supervise and coordinate staffing, work assignments, employee performance and productivity of personnel. Exercise underwriting expertise in determining statutory requirements and acceptability for individual applications, request for policy changes and exceptions, evaluation and revision of department processes, billing, money handling and bad debt processes and identifying physical inspection needs to confirm physical hazards, liability exposures and valuations as appropriate. Perform personnel functions including hiring, employee development and guidance, performance appraisals, work audits and salary reviews. Lead and/or participate in various projects, committees, meetings and training programs at the Company and Department levels.

• Position can be located in Columbia, Missouri; Las Vegas, Nevada or Arizona.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Experience in insurance with underwriting knowledge preferred
