What We're Looking For: Kitchen Prep Lead

As the Amphitheater Kitchen Prep Lead, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating kitchen preparation activities within the amphitheater venue. Your role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of food service during events, concerts, and performances.

JOB DUTIES

1. Kitchen Prep Management:

   - Supervise and coordinate all kitchen preparation activities, including food chopping, slicing, dicing, marinating, and portioning.

   - Ensure that food items are prepared according to standardized recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.

   - Oversee the setup and organization of workstations to optimize efficiency and productivity.

2. Inventory Control:

   - Monitor inventory levels of food items and kitchen supplies, including ingredients, spices, utensils, and disposables.

   - Coordinate with kitchen management to place orders for replenishment, ensuring adequate stock levels to meet demand.

   - Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate records of stock movement.

3. Quality Assurance:

   - Maintain high standards of food quality, freshness, and presentation.

   - Inspect ingredients for freshness and quality, rejecting any items that do not meet standards.

   - Monitor food temperatures during preparation to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

4. Training and Supervision:

   - Train kitchen staff on proper food preparation techniques, including knife skills, portioning, and sanitation practices.

   - Provide guidance and support to kitchen team members, ensuring consistent performance and adherence to standards.

   - Delegate tasks effectively and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of prep work.

5. Sanitation and Safety:

   - Enforce strict sanitation and hygiene practices in the kitchen, including proper handwashing, food storage, and cleaning procedures.

   - Conduct regular sanitation inspections and address any issues promptly.

   - Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including HACCP standards and local health codes.
