Ammonia Technician

The Waldinger Corporation, a growing Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Sheet Metal industry leader, is adding an Ammonia Technician to our team!

Our technicians are trained to work on all major brands of equipment found in Cold Storage, Food Production Facilities, and beyond. Specializing in affordable, tailored planned maintenance agreements, Industrial Refrigeration Services a division of The Waldinger Corporation is focused on exceeding the customer's expectations and getting the job done right the first time and every time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Service Repair, Preventative Maintenance, Emergency Services, Operations and Monitoring of Ammonia Refrigeration Systems

• Commissioning of Manufacturer's Equipment: Vilter, GEA/FES, Frick, Mycom, Evapco and Others

• Troubleshooting of Refrigeration Systems and components including; Compressors, RTUs/MAUs, Condensers, Evaporators, Chillers, Vessels, Purgers, Pumps and Piping Systems... including their Microprocessors and Electric Controls

• Perform and Document: Ammonia System Inspections, Ammonia Sensor Inspections/Calibrations and Ammonia Concentration Testing, Annual PM's on Reciprocating and Screw Compressors

• Assisting in Condenser Change-outs, Compressor Swaps, Evaporator Change-outs, System Tie-ins

• Creating and implementing Comprehensive Pump-out and Refrigerant Handling Procedures

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years' experience maintaining/servicing Ammonia Refrigeration Systems

• Maintain strong customer service and thorough communication with customers

• An Understanding of Principles and Operations of Refrigeration Systems

• Available for Periodic Emergency On-call duty

• Attend monthly safety training and adhere to all safety policies and procedures

• Clean driving record

• Able to Interpret Drawings and Read Electrical Schematics

• Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Hot Work Experience

• Ability to isolate, LOTO, and pump-out of ammonia refrigeration equipment

• Ability to read and understand P&ID's and SOP's

• Basic Knowledge in Pneumatic and Automatic Equipment Operations; Compressed Air Systems, Compressors and Air Dryers (not required but beneficial)

• Basic Knowledge in Boiler Operation, Wastewater, and Process Machinery (not required but beneficial)

• Ammonia Emergency Response Training

• IIAR, RETA, GCAP, ASHREA, IRC Certifications

• Refrigeration Manufacturer's Classes or Certifications

• Process Safety Management Certifications
