The AmeriCorps Community Training for Overdose Rescue (ACT) program of Wayne State University seeks to stop opioid and heroin overdose deaths in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties. The ACT program teaches community members how to intervene during an overdose emergency to save lives.
It is vital that those most likely to encounter an overdose emergency are prepared to respond people who use opioids and their friends and family members, block club members, safety patrol groups, security personnel, and employees of local businesses, community organizations, and service-providing agencies. *ACT offers quarter-time slots, with four start dates scheduled throughout the program year. Enrollment for our program is ongoing with part-time opportunities available. Please contact us or check our website for upcoming dates.
