Position Overview:
Public Allies Chicago is currently recruiting young leaders who are passionate about transforming communities for our AmeriCorps program. This is a 10-month commitment in which we place our AmeriCorps members, whom we call Allies, at full-time positions at nonprofits or community based organizations around Chicago while receiving leadership training and ongoing support. Allies are also required to mentor eighth or ninth grade CPS students using a curriculum that we've created. You can expect to work about 40-45 hours per week. What You'll Do:

  • Work full-time at a nonprofit in Chicago
  • Mentor 8th or 9th grade Chicago Public School students
  • Participate in trainings twice a month
  • Receive professional development
Requirements &

Qualifications:
  • 18 to 32 year olds are strongly encouraged to apply
  • At minimum must have a high school diploma or GED (those who do not possess a college degree are strongly encouraged to apply)
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google suite, email)
  • Spanish fluency a plus
  • Must be legally able to work in the US.
  • Drivers license and access to a car a plus

The American Red Cross is currently looking to fill full-time positons for the 2019-2020 service year.
