Microsoft Consumer Sales Organization (CSO) works across all Microsoft products and services sold to Consumers, under Microsoft Solution Areas Gaming covering Xbox Hardware and Services and Devices and Creativity covering Surface, Office and Windows. The CSO team partners with internal and external customers alike with the goal of maximizing revenue, market share, and mutual profit ensuring the highest ethics and compliance in any action.

CSO Finance is a truly global finance team highly engaged in developing its talents and having them evolve in a moving environment. CSO Finance spans all finance functions; we span working with Marketing to drive our product categories, with Supply and Ops to ensure we have the right product in the right places, Sales to understand our Partner Account mechanics and Channel Strategy, manage the organization's Rhythm of Business (RoB) and are custodians of the Profit & Loss (P&L). We chart our Growth path in existing businesses and in net new areas for the company, whilst prioritizing creating a more Inclusive Microsoft across our products, our culture and our marketing and every customer engagement.

The Americas Gaming Consumer Solutions Area Financial Planning & Accounting (FP&A) Controller role is an excellent opportunity to be at the heart of a dynamic business at a critical point of evolution. You will play an instrumental role in orchestrating financial processes and business insights, identifying and critically assessing investment opportunities optimizing between margin & share to drive profitable sustainable growth engines and shape the landing of our Worldwide strategy. You will work with diverse teams in matrix organizations influencing Regional, Worldwide CSO and Engineering Groups (EG) teams.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Consumer industry experience.

  • Ability to drive the transformation.

  • Proficient communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and explain business results

  • Experience and comfort presenting to Senior Management

  • Organizational skills

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in complex environments.

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.

Prioritize

  • Drive the overall finance performance and forecast accuracy on the Profit & Loss (P&L) for the Americas Gaming business working with the Category, Marketing and Sales teams to understand the drivers and the levers, while influence investments - proactively managing the overall investments, Gross Margin and Contribution Margin.

  • Delivers results through teamwork, working through other and across teams, aligning people and resources, establishing high standards of performance, and creating a climate of mutual accountability that delivers expected business. Partnering with business leaders to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results. Manages the rhythm of the business for America's Gaming including monthly close, recurring business review preparation, forecast and budgeting.

  • Drive and contribute to key financial processes (monthly close, outlook, forecast, budget) in conjunction with the America's team - be the voice of business partners, champion simplicity, drive consistency, focus & prioritization on what matters, ensure all of this is delivered within the existing standard CSO finance processes.

Partnership

  • Drives the Rhythm of the Business (RoB) for the Americas Gaming CSA, managing key processes, timelines, consolidating outcomes.

Consolidating the Americas story, performance and reviews analysis of present and future financial performance, financial plans (e.g., expected returns, resource allocation, pricing, investment opportunities) and economic transactions (e.g., customer deals, commercial partnerships, acquisitions, etc.). Prepares and summarizes recommendations.

  • Works both across America business and directly with business partners, and finance team members to translate top-down targets to an accountable budget for each group. Partners and solicits insight from business and stakeholders.

  • Partners across teams to deliver results, tracking performance, report accuracy, and partnering with business leaders to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results. Manages/own the rhythm of the business for area of responsibility including monthly close, recurring business review preparation, and budgeting. Generates relevant and actionable insights to drive the business forward.

  • Develops and leverages relationships with Marketing and Sales partner to influence investment strategy to optimize sales and return on investment (ROI). Builds relationships with stakeholders at on the Americas Gaming Leadership Team.

  • Partnership with across Category, Marketing, Sales in Americas and WW Gaming Finance community to drive cross-group alignment to a single source of the truth

  • Facilitates resolve complex issues. Manages and executes processes through engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
