POSITION HIGHLIGHTS;

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES;

  • Coordinate and provide primary nursing care for internal medicine patients ages 18 and over with a wide variety of diagnoses utilizing expert clinical knowledge, compassion and excellent communication skills

  • Assist with significant phone triage and care coordination, scheduling appointments and medicine reconciliation

  • Administer medications, treatments and provide patient/family education

  • Provide patient care coordination and patient advocacy

  • Collaborate with other team members; provide guidance and support with direct workflow of clinical staff

  • Identify and participate in QI activities

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS;

  • Current RN Licensure in the State of Illinois

  • BSN or MSN required

  • Current CPR Certification

  • 1-2 years experience as an RN required. Med/Surg, ambulatory or home health experience preferred

  • Must be detail oriented, able to work independently and demonstrate excellent organizational, critical thinking skills and basic computer skills

  • Bilingual ability preferred

Position Highlights: * Opportunity to work with pregnant patients handling situations involving fetal anomalies or high risk pregnancies * Expert care coordination for patients and families from pregnancy through the post-natal period * Participate in monthly leadership meetings while enjoying interdisciplinary involvement and a supportive team environment * Position is part-time Days 40 hours/pay period Position Responsibilities: * Principal role of the Ambulatory RN II is to coordinate patient care activities for the Fetal and Neonatal Medicine Center (FNMC). * Supports the daily activities of the FNMC which includes coordination of family conferences, patient education and counseling, support of administrative functions and communication with patients, patients' families, and hospital staff during the prenatal period, while patient is hospitalized and after patient discharge. * Participate with triage and call responsibilities. * May travel to outreach locations Position Qualifications Include: * Current Illinois Registered Nurse Licensure * Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing required; * Current CPR-BLS required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross only) * A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required post license. * Previous experience in L&D or NICU or Mother Baby or Ambulatory OB required Company Highlights: * Rush University Medical Center is a four-time Magnet® facility, the highest recognition given for nursing excellence.
