Nemours is seeking a Nurse Manager to join our Nemours Children's Hospital Ambulatory team in Orlando, Florida.

Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children's Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 100-bed pediatric hospital also features the area's only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. A hospital designed by families for families, Nemours Children's Hospital blends the healing power of nature with the latest in healthcare innovation to deliver world-class care to the children of Central Florida and beyond. In keeping with our goal of bringing Nemours care into the communities we serve, we also provide specialty outpatient care in several clinics located throughout the region

The Ambulatory Clinic Nurse Manager is responsible and accountable for nursing quality, service and financial performance for assigned divisions. This position is responsible for promoting a patient and family centered model of care. The position will also be responsible for instituting the shared governance model for Nemours Nursing and positive role modeling the Nemours Standards of Behavior and values.

Position Responsibilities

  • Promotes a patient and family-centered care model promoting the nurse patient partnership and the professional role of the nurse.

  • Manages assigned Ambulatory Clinic staff promoting a healthy work and learning environment.

  • Insures adequate training of new staff and ongoing training of existing staff.

  • Maintains adequate coverage in the assigned clinical area and when necessary, provides justification for changes in staffing levels.

  • Hires, counsels and provides disciplinary actions to Ambulatory Clinic staff as necessary.

  • Provides feedback and coaching to staff on an ongoing basis utilizing the Nemours Standards of Behavior.

  • Performs timely annual performance reviews for all assigned staff in accordance with Human Resources policy and procedures.

  • Along with the Director of Ambulatory Clinic Operations, monitors expenses and assures compliance with the budget.

  • Along with the Director of Ambulatory Clinic Operations, Administrator Director of Surgery or Pediatrics provides justification for necessary capital and operational expenses.

  • Ensures effective and efficient utilization of resources in daily management decisions.

  • Supports and operationalizes the integrated model of care.

  • Assures nursing compliance with regulatory readiness agencies.

  • Leads quality improvement projects designed to improve nursing clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

  • Participates in nursing research activities and supports evidence based pediatric nursing.

  • Models a caring philosophy focusing on health promotion and safety education.

  • Champions' age appropriate developmental considerations and holistic patient care.

  • Directs nursing planning and policy making through constructive collaboration in key committees.

  • Must have the ability to work well with others, have good communication skills and regular attendance is required

Position Requirements

  • BSN Degree required; Masters in Nursing or other field preferred.

  • Current Florida Nursing license required

  • Valid American Heart Association BLS and PALS required upon hire

  • Minimum of 5 years nursing experience; management experience preferred.

Clinically, the unit provides advanced hemodynamic monitoring, artificial airway and ventilator management and other treatments that are necessary to aggressively treat the complex acutely ill and critically ill medical and surgical populations. Both a medical and surgical Intensivist-led teams are available for consultation/management of patients in the MSICU. The MSICU staff functions as part of the multi-disciplinary team including physicians, social worker, case management, physical & occupational therapist, respiratory therapist, dietician, chaplain and pharmacist to meet the needs of this population. We are currently seeking Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager to work in our Multisystem Intensive Care Unit at Orlando Regional Medical Center with the following qualifications: Experience Two (2) years of experience as a registered nurse in the acute care setting. Licensure/Certification Maintains current professional license as a registered nurse in the State of Florida. Maintains current BLS; as determined by specialty area ACLS, PALS, NALS, or TNCC. Education/Training Graduate from an approved school of nursing with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree. NOTE: Full Time (40 hours per week). Day shift. Schedules may include weekends and holidays.
