Amazing Athletes is the countrys most popular mobile educational sports program for children ages 18 months to 6 years and offer classes year-round. We have multiple positions available in the Minneapolis & St Paul Metro area.

We are recruiting part-time coaches to teach about 10 hours a week to start. Weekly classes are held Monday-Fridays between 9am to 12pm.

Compensation $18-$20 per hour depending on your experience and commitment. Paid training sessions begin immediately. Excellent growth potential!

Requirements

  • Available to coach a minimum of 2 of 5 weekdays

The Sports Coach oversees the Sports program and coaching staff. As a Sports Team Coach, you provide feedback on execution and direction during Sports practice and games. The Sports Coach will develop goals for the sports team as well as individual goals. The Sports Coach will plan the weekly practice workouts and manage the meet program placements. The Sports Coach will inspire and prepare students with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning.</p><p>As a Sports Coach you will respond to parents and team concerns, respond to incidents, and interact with parents and participants. The Sports Coach provides high level of customer service and ensures a safe and positive program environment and leads by example. The Sports Coach will facilitate a program that enhances the lives of youth by assisting them to goal set and achieve their goals.</p><p>The Sports Coach may assist with data entry for registration and games using the team database. The Sports Coach will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and will help our youth improve their sport. The Sports Coach implements a program that will meet the different needs of all youth in the program, such as unity, spirit, teamwork, endurance, skill and technique improvement. The Sports Coach will maintain sports equipment. This role will require knowledge of a designated sport such as basketball, track, baseball, soccer, etc. The Sports Coach will need to be self-directed, organized and dependable to meet the needs of the sports program and participants.</p><p>1.Job Summary:</p><p>The Sports Coach is responsible for leading sports classes and coaching leagues to ensure that the program criteria and objectives are carried out. The incumbent is responsible for implementing curriculum, as assigned. The Sports Coach provides a safe, enjoyable experience to all program participants.</p><p>2.Essential Functions:</p><ul><li><p>Set up and lead team sports activities including all scheduled classes, practices and games.</p></li><li><p>Lead special programs and activities as required.</p></li><li><p>Attend all coach meetings.</p></li><li><p>Communicate important information regarding classes, practices and games to all players.</p></li><li><p>Adhere to YMCA policies, rules and objectives.</p></li><li><p>Follow emergency procedures and complete accident reports as necessary.</p></li><li><p>Maintain and assume responsibility for all sports equipment.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrate good sportsmanship and lead by example among volunteers, team parents and participants to support the responsibilities of the officials and sports leadership.</p></li><li><p>Work to establish and improve team unity and spirit.</p></li></ul><p>3.Relationships:</p><p>This position reports to the Sports Director/Sr. Sports Coordinator who reports to the Executive Director. The incumbent interacts regularly with staff, members, volunteers and the community. This position requires regular interaction with youth, families, and seniors from a variety of diverse backgrounds.</p><p>4.Qualifications:</p><p>Required</p><ul><li><p>Coaching experience at any level (preferably two (2) years of exp)</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of designated sport</p></li><li><p>Ability to complete online concussion training within 30 days of hire.</p></li><li><p>Must be self-directed, motivated, dependable and organized</p></li><li><p>Ability and interest in working with people of diverse backgrounds</p></li><li><p>Strong communication and mediation skills</p></li></ul><p>Preferred</p><ul><li>Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED, First Aid and Oxygen</li></ul><p>5.Work Conditions:</p><ul><li><p>Perform all physical aspects of the position, including being mobile, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.</p></li><li><p>Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous/dangerous situations.</p></li><li><p>Ability to travel locally to visit branch sites, attend meetings and training.</p></li><li><p>May be exposed to verbal outbursts, physical actions or bodily fluids as part of the environment.</p></li><li><p>Work environments range from quiet work areas to busy, noisy indoor and outdoor spaces with several groups talking amongst themselves concurrently.</p></li><li><p>Must be able to actively participate in games/activities.</p></li></ul><p>6.Additional Notes:</p><p>This job description represents the major functions of the position but is not intended to be all-inclusive. The incumbent is also responsible for taking direction from branch representatives in completing projects or performing duties deemed necessary for the branch or Association success.</p><p>Must be able to swim and be willing to be in the pool for one hour each day. Classes will be on Tuesdays and Thursday from 12:30-3:30pm. 1:00-2:00pm will be a specific sport, then from 2:00-3:00pm will be swimming with a set specific skills to focus on. Have a passion for coaching and share your knowledge of the sports with our youth.
