Requirements Bachelor's degree required Master's Degree in Education or Pupil Personnel Services (Counseling) credential highly desired At least two to five years' experience working with high school students and/or college students preferably from low-income backgrounds or high-needs population Experience working in college retention and persistence programming highly desired Understanding of transfer requirements for community college students and alternative pathways for Alumni who want to enter the workforce upon graduation highly desired Strong knowledge of adolescent development Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities for first-generation college students Spanish and/or Korean language fluency highly desired High level of cultural competency working with and for the Latino, African American, Korean, and LGTBQ communities. Knowledge of the college admissions and financial aid process (FAFSA and California Dream Act). Preferably some college counseling experience at the high school and/or college level.

Ability to develop strong relationships with Alumni, institutions, other charter school networks, and support staff. Customer-service and detail oriented Strong communication skills and ability to work well in teams Be able to take initiative, follow up, and follow through on tasks Comfortable using social media and cloud-based data platform to track and support students Experience with event planning and coordination Articulate, professional demeanor with strong self-confidence and initiative Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with a proven ability to prioritize, manage, and meet multiple deadlines Commitment to data driven results and outcomes Unquestioned commitment to working poor, first generation college students of color Unquestioned commitment to Bright Star Schools' mission and values. Must have a reliable car and clean driving record

Mr. and Mrs. Resnick fund a generous Wonderful College Scholarship program, awarding renewable college scholarships of $4000 or $6000 annually, along with high-touch supports, to Central-Valley based employees' children as well as graduates of Wonderful College Prep Academy and Wonderful Agriculture Career Prep. We seek a Director, College Success who will oversee the Wonderful College Scholarship program and ensure Wonderful College Scholars earn four-year college degrees. This is an exceptional opportunity requiring a proven leader who is entrepreneurial, highly organized, possesses strong execution skills and understands how to launch and manage new programs to achieve key objectives. The Director, College Success reports to the Vice-President, Wonderful Education and can be based at The Wonderful Company global headquarters in Los Angeles or at one of our regional offices in Delano or Fresno. Here's what you'll do: * Lead a high performing team that is charged to significantly increase college completion of predominately first-generation college-bound students from the Central Valley who attend four-year universities in Southern or Northern California, or out of state. * Plan and execute College Transition activities, including student workshops and overnight conferences, parent workshops and summer counseling sessions. * Develop, implement and oversee a system of holistic student support services to promote academic achievement, scholarship eligibility, retention and timely degree completion of Wonderful College Scholars. * Develop short and long-term plans to support the successful transition of high school graduates who start college as juniors, including customized support for first-time freshmen transitioning with an A.S.T degree directly into upper division coursework expected to fast-track graduation. * Train College Success Managers and Specialists to implement support services with their assigned caseloads, including academic tutoring, mentorship, degree advisement and graduation counseling. * Lead data-driven processes that regularly evaluate Wonderful Scholar trends and staff effectiveness to facilitate academic, administrative or personnel problem-solving * Supervise College Success Managers, and support their supervision of College Success Specialists and implementation of strategic action plans, effective case management schedules, and high-touch support. * Collaborate with Wonderful Education leaders from College Prep (for employees' children), Agriculture Career Prep (early college pathway), and College Prep Academy (charter schools), as well as Central Valley-based high school partners. * Liaise with relevant university stakeholders to maximize resources for Scholar success. * Carry out other duties as assigned. Here's what you'll bring to the table: Education and experience: * Master's Degree required in higher education administration, student development, counseling or related field * A minimum of five years of experience working in education, counseling and/or college advisement. * A minimum of three years of management experience. * Experience working with low-income, first-generation college students, preferably from rural or agricultural communities. Knowledge, skills and abilities: * Innovative and entrepreneurial. * Visionary, able to manage a team toward ambitious outcomes and build support among stakeholders. * A history of achieving outstanding results and coaching, mentoring, and managing others in a collaborative, fast-paced, and high-performing environment. * The desire to work tirelessly on behalf of college students in the Central Valley. * Demonstrates initiative, strong work ethic, and attention to detail. * Committed to continuous improvement and personal professional growth. * Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; superior analytic skills. * Fluent in Spanish a plus. * Willingness to travel regularly to university campuses throughout California.
