• Communications (Work Study) Position Summary

The Texas Wesleyan University Office of Alumni Relations is seeking a work-study student employee. Under the direction of the Director of Alumni Relations, this part-time position is responsible for assisting with the planning and creation of department communications and events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with creation and implementation of news stories, email communications and the monthly alumni newsletter

• Create graphics for social media and communications

• Assist with event planning, set-up and take-down for the office of advancement and alumni relations

• Assist with the creation of social media strategy and post to alumni social media platforms

• Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn

• Track social media engagement on various platforms including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn

• Assist with alumni mailings

• Assist with administrative duties of the alumni office

• Provide excellent customer service when answering incoming office phone calls and with campus guests

Education, Certifications and/or Licenses Experience Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ideal candidate will have the ability to write and/or edit promotional material for alumni events and program postings

• Graphic design ability using Canva or Adobe

• Proficient knowledge of Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn

• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
