The Highlights:
Reporting to the Associate Dean [AD] for New Initiatives, the Alumni Engagement Coordinator is responsible for cultivating, developing, enhancing, and increasing LAS engagement with its alumni. The person in this role will envision, develop and implement communication and engagement strategies, working closely with the Office of Alumni Relations, Enrollment Management, Career Center, Advancement Communications and Development.
What You'll Do:
Work with the Dean, AD for New Initiatives, the Dean's Executive Team, and chairs to implement and refine a robust alumni outreach and communication strategy, including, but not limited to:
Generate and cultivate alumni participation in LAS events by working with units and chairs to develop and maintain a list of relevant events, provide outreach to alumni, and/or work with Alumni Relations to do the same
Provide content and support strategy for college-level social media outreach to alumni, especially via LinkedIn, in coordination with LAS Social Media and Website Administrator
Schedule, produce, and manage the Alumni Spotlight series of interviews published on the web, in social media, and in the LAS online newsletter
Identify and cultivate alumni who have expressed interest in contributing to classes and alumni-student mentorship opportunities
Make activities on campus available to our alumni (talks, conferences, etc.) through active liaising with Alumni Relations and social media platforms
Manage LAS Luminaries, the college's alumni and Friends appreciation program
Work with cultural resource centers & international student services to identify and cultivate LAS alumni to participate in their campus events oriented toward students
Plan and implement key college-level events and programs for alumni engagement, including but not limited to special LAS days at Wintrust Arena, the annual college Alumni Reception, and the Chicago Changemaker Award for Graduate Student Alumni.
Attend and support bi-annual LAS Advisory Board Meetings.
Maintain and update, as necessary, the LAS Alumni Engagement best practices guide
Develop new and refine existing tools to track alumni engagement
Work with Alumni Relations and the college's units to maintain and update records of contact with active LAS alums
Work with Development, as required, to support and amplify any donor campaigns that may be developed around LAS alumni, especially Blue Demon Challenge
Work with the Office of Enrollment Management to enhance our recruitment outreach efforts through our alumni networks
What You'll Need:
The position requires a BA; an MA is preferred. 3-5 years in higher education is required
The person in this role must be an effective communicator, with strong, developed speaking and writing skills; the ideal candidate will be a collaborator who is able to work independently and as part of a team; the person must be creative and show demonstrable initiative; the person will demonstrate commitment to our Vincentian mission and values.
The position may require participation in weekend and evening events, as well as some domestic travel.
