Job Description:


  • Responsible for Loading/Unloading of Sulfuric Acid and Aluminum Sulfate.

  • Responsible for safe and efficient loading and unloading of railcars and tank trucks.

  • Assist or direct tank truck drivers to safely load or unload materials.

  • Perform inspections and operate track mobile to safely move railcars within plant.

  • Obtain raw material tank readings.

  • Requires use of heavy hand tools to perform railcar work.

  • Minor maintenance required.

  • Perform tank valve line ups

  • Perform inspections of tanks, trucks, railcars and other equipment.

  • Obtain samples from storage tanks, tank trucks, rail cars.

  • Safely operate track mobile to move railcars within plant.

  • Responsible for Aluminum Sulfate production in a batch plant facility.

  • Responsible for safe and efficient production of Aluminum Sulfate.

  • Charges raw materials.

  • Reads and records operating data.

  • Performs quality testing while making the batch.

  • Makes adjustments to production batches to ensure product is on spec according to our quality requirements.

  • Logs, records, and manages daily inventories to determine batch schedule.

  • Perform storage and in process tank transfers.

  • Unloads railcars and operates front-end loader for raw material handling.


  • Be knowledgeable of and comply with all applicable site, corporate and regulatory safety and environmental requirements.

  • Attend and actively participate in safety meetings and complete all applicable safety training as required.

  • Report all safety or environmental incidents immediately and openly participate in the incident investigation. Immediately report any spills or breach of containment.

  • Responsible for placarding railcars.

  • Responsible for housekeeping of loading and production areas as well as tank farms.

  • Must be knowledgeable with the site contractor safety program.

  • Properly inspect, use and maintain necessary PPE; ensure the proper PPE for the job is prescribed.

  • Ensure hoses are connected properly to avoid leaks, spills, etc.

  • Perform leak checks in Alum tank farm.

  • Ensure waste is properly labeled in compliance with local regulations.

  • Look for waste reduction opportunities.

  • Check equipment, production lines, reactors, storage tanks and related equipment.

  • Perform equipment and HSE inspections, i.e. safety showers, forklifts, track mobile, ladders, PPE, storage tanks.

  • Perform tank valve line ups

Job Requirements


  • Must be able to work at second job location at alternate customer location as needed.

  • Requires use of heavy hand tools to perform railcar work.

  • Ability to use computer to access plant information as necessary, for example, email, SAP for work orders, excel as well as use these tools to conduct your job.

  • Must be able to wear full-face respirator.

  • Must be able to work shift work.

  • Must be able to work weekends and/or holidays as needed.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must have a valid driver's license
