Position: CLO ALS Technical Officer

Physical Location: Central Loan Operations, Tupelo

Reports To: CLO Manager, Christi Jones Sudduth

Working Conditions: Normal, no adverse or hazardous conditions

Primary Purpose: (Summary of major reason this job exists)

The Advanced Loan System (ALS) is a complex mainframe based loan accounting and servicing system. It integrates into numerous systems within the company. Detailed knowledge of ALS functions and how they integrate and impact other systems is a critical function for protecting company assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and preventing unintended outcomes. The CLO ALS Technical Officer assists department management and department personnel with managing the use of ALS. Additionally, the ALS Technical Officer assists with loan related questions and issues regarding ALS, eForms, NetTrax, loan platform, loan documentation, regulatory compliance, exceptions, XNet, policy, procedure, branch manuals, and other general loan questions.

Leads CLO conversion team when converting merged or acquired banks from system to system. Performs training and creates supporting training plans for conversons.

The ALS Technical Officer ensures proper quality control over ALS functions within CLO and maintains a strategic relationship with ALS Programmers and Quality Assurance liaisons.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
(Majority of duties performed, but not meant to be all inclusive or to prevent other duties from being assigned)

  • Specialized knowledge of ALS functionality:

  • Servicing

  • Account level parameters

  • System level parameters

  • Regulatory compliance integration

  • Customizations and system integrations

  • Reporting

  • Perform peer training for processes and procedures in the loan servicing area, including but not limited to problem resolution, maintenance, and specialized lending areas

  • Knowledgeable in regulatory compliance to ensure ALS is processing accounts within regulatory guidelines and escalate potential issues to CLO management

  • Reviews all ALS vendor provided updates, coordinates, and assigns priority based upon servicing and compliance risk

  • Authors and updates loan servicing procedures including ensuring problem resolution procedures and maintenance procedures are synchronized

  • Superior skills in the proper input of loan information into loan platform system in order to ensure accurate loan documentation is generated and information is properly uploaded to ALS

  • Assists management with all projects including development of new processes and enhancements to current systems

  • Assumes supervisory responsibilities in the absence of Loan Servicing Manager

  • Monitors all processes related to the Shadow Accounting functionality in ALS

  • Escalates, prioritizes, and assists CLO Quality Control ensuring relevant processes are being tested

  • Supports branch personnel in the proper set up and processing of complex loan transactions, including modifications, participations, and tiered commitments to ensure system functionality supports the loan agreement

  • Must have the ability to adapt to changing environments as workflow is adjusted for regulatory and workflow processes

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Specifications: (Knowledge, skills, and abilities normally required for competent performance in the job)

  • High School Diploma with prior banking experience

  • College Degree or applicable career experience

  • Close attention to details and good organizational and analytical skills

  • Understanding of loan products and functionality

  • Professional written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to operate standard computer and office equipment. i.e. e-mail, copier, scanner, adding machine

  • Knowledge of NetTrax and understanding of CLO workflow

  • Experience with loan documentation for multiple states, to include loan notes, deeds of trusts and mortgages, security agreements, and loan agreements

  • Knowledge of loan functionality including payment processing and interest accruals

  • Advanced knowledge of ALS

Position Title: Loan Review Officer Organizational Location: Administration Team Physical Location: 499 Air Park Road, Tupelo MS 38803 Reports To: First Vice President and Operations Manager Working Conditions: Normal, no adverse or hazardous conditions Job Group Category: Exempt Work Hours: Monday - Friday (8:00 am - 5:00 pm) Primary Purpose: * Independently evaluate the loan classification or credit grading of individual loans reviewed * Ensure that problem loans are identified in a timely manner by account officers and that action plans are in place and reasonable * Ensure that loans are granted and documented in compliance with approved lending policies and procedures and that they are within regulatory requirements including inspecting loans for non-approved Loan Policy/Regulatory violations and technical exceptions * Report results of Loan Reviews to the Credit Risk Committee members, the appropriate senior executives and bank management Principal Duties and Responsibilities: * Analysis and underwriting of loans and assigning an appropriate risk rating * Verifying completeness and accuracy of loan documentation with exceptions being noted * Understanding and enforcing Bank, State and Federal loan policy with violations being noted * Preparing loan review reports * Presenting recommendations to Management Job Specifications: * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking or related field required * Knowledge of lending process with a focus on loan underwriting, loan documentation and regulatory and loan policy required * Be able to work in a team environment * Previous loan review experience with another bank or state/federal agency or previous experience with consumer and commercial loans desirable * Some travel may be required Disclaimer The above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
