Quality lead for Alpha Space Test & Research Alliance, LLC. Alpha Space owns and operates MISSE, a commercial testing facility on the ISS.
The ideal candidate is an experienced, hands-on quality engineer interested in commercial spaceflight, with a broad background that includes spaceflight hardware manufacturing and development, configuration management/control, vendor quality, working collaboratively as part of the engineering development team, and leading continuous improvement efforts.
Responsible for all Quality aspects of Alpha Space's spaceflight hardware development, refurbishment, processing, testing, and upgrades, including design, manufacturing, payload flight processing, configuration management/control, and vendor quality.
Bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited university
At least two years recent space industry experience that includes developing and manufacturing human spaceflight equipment
At least five years of quality engineering experience
Deep knowledge of current industry quality standards and NASA standards for human spaceflight
Understanding of the International Space Station program quality system and requirements
Proven ability to collaborate with internal development teams to deliver high quality, fully compliant products on-time and on-budget
Experienced auditor internal and external audits
Working understanding of configuration control and configuration management
Ability to communicate clearly written and verbal
Positive attitude, comfortable with a dynamic environment
Experience as a quality system manager
