Program Assistant
The SAE Program Assistant position is a part-time, ten-month, 18 hours per week position with additional hours during peak registration times and possible additional daytime summer hours.
Location: Branford High School
Schedule and Hours: Monday
Rate: $21.50 per hour
Minimum Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of people from other cultures with limited English language proficiency
Highly detailed-oriented, organized and accurate
Takes initiative and has the ability to work independently and as a member of a team using judgment and discretion.
Ability to be flexible in a constantly changing environment with tight deadlines and a high volume of activity
Ability to multitask and prioritize workload
Proficient in Google and Microsoft platforms, including creating and maintaining spreadsheets
Knowledgeable about adult education and the programs offered at SAE a plus
Knowledgeable about the State Adult Education database
Major Areas of Responsibility:
The program assistant will provide administrative assistance for SAE Management, School Counselor and Program Facilitator and have the following responsibilities:
Facilitate registration and intake for all Diploma students and evening ESOL students, including administering standardized assessments
Work collaboratively with the other program assistants regarding diploma student intake occurring at alternative sites or at alternative times
Collect and input all Diploma data into the LACES CT State Reporting Database in a timely manner
Support the teachers in the classroom when necessary, including but not limited to, room organization, computer set up and assistance
Create and maintain Diploma student files, electronic attendance records, career plans, and schedules
Create weekly staff newsletter in Constant Contact with management input
Manage and maintain the SAE Employment and Community Resource Google Classroom
Assist with organization and implementation of SAE community events, celebrations, and guest speakers
Assist with ordering and managing supplies
Prepare biweekly payroll
Additional general administrative tasks as needed
