Job Description:

POSITION: STEP Program Coordinator

• Part time

• 25-29 hours per week

START DATE: Fall 2024

Shared Services has an opening for the STEP Program Coordinator. The STEP program coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the STEP afterschool alternate program at Northwestern Regional #7 High School.

Qualifications:

CSDE teacher Certification 7-12 (special education or related services preferred, 065,165,070,071,061)

Intermediate Administrator Certification (092)

Strong history of program coordination

Strong history of staff supervision

Strong organizational and leadership skills and ability to work with staff in a collaborative manner

Good verbal and written communication skills with attention given to details

Knowledge of alternate education programming

Knowledge of special education and 504

Duties:

Coordinate all aspects of the STEP program

Recruit and supervise staff working in the STEP program

Develop and maintain curriculum for STEP students

Liaison with day school staff regarding students transferring in and out of STEP

Facilitate monthly STEP meetings with district administration

Create and maintain student progress monitoring systems

Compile and monitor student attendance data

Work with NWR7 vocational coordinator to develop and maintain vocational opportunities for students

Handle student disciplinary matters with building administrators

Facilitate PPT meetings with assistant coordinator

Coordinate transportation requirements for STEP students

Work with district administration to continuously improve the STEP program
