Required Certifications & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or Teaching Certification Preferred But Not Required or completed ED-174 form.

General Statement of Duties

The building substitute is assigned to a specific school to provide substitute teaching coverage in the absence of any of the school's teachers. If no teachers are absent on a particular day, the building substitute will perform duties as assigned by building administration. Occasionally, a building substitute in one school may be assigned to another school in the district if there is a definitive need for substitute teachers in that other school on a given day.

Specific Examples of Duties

The building substitute will

• Assume all responsibilities and duties for the regularly assigned teacher who is absent

• Follow the teacher's lesson plans and daily schedule

• Record student absences

• Maintain the established standards of classroom control

• Assume the regular teacher's non-teaching duties

• Collect all written assignments

• Leave the classroom in a neat and orderly fashion at the end of the day

Additional Duties

Perform all other duties that may be assigned by the Building Administrator(s)

Terms of Employment

• Rate $115 per full day

• Yearly appointment

Work Schedule

• Monday-Friday. (½ hour unpaid lunch)
• 7:40am - 2:50pm
