Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Import & Export Specialist(Bi-Lingual) to join our NVOCC team in Jacksonville, FL! The Import & Export Specialist will be responsible for providing the highest level of service and creative solutions to our customers while effectively quoting and coordinating import and export shipments. The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of import & export documentation, domestic & international freight forwarding experience, and should be service oriented, proactive, adaptable, and a creative problem solver.

Scope of Responsibility:

  • Manage domestic and international import & export shipments for key customers.

  • Book shipments with steamship lines and/or truckers.

  • Coordinate with loading facilities, truckers, ocean carriers, and other vendors in the US and internationally.

  • Prepare required documentation for each shipment.

  • Track and trace cargo.

  • Update all systems with shipping and customer information.

  • Provide constant communication and updates to customers.

  • Manage all pricing for key customer accounts to ensure that correct information is in the system for billing.

  • Send invoices to customer to ensure timely payment.

  • Other related tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or related experience.

  • 1 to 2 years of ocean import and export experience with an NVOCC or freight forwarder is required.

  • Experience with working with ocean carriers and drayage (trucking).

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Knowledge of incoterms.

  • Bi-Lingual(Spanish)

Responsibilities Claims Management (80%) * Manage incoming complaints and/or claims received. * Investigate and help mitigate claim losses. * Ensure claim resolution on behalf of the division. * Communicate with customer to request information or provide status on claim resolution. * Communicate with Client Service team to ensure follow up with claim communication and payment processing. * Work closely with manager on claims which are of high value or disputed by customers in order to find resolution. * Monitor individual claims inventory to ensure up to date status of all claims. Reporting (5%) * Document accurate information and data for use in statistical reports prepared for management. Audit (15%) * Support on inventory discrepancy investigations and resolutions. * Communicate opportunities with the warehouse operations team and follow up on completion of corrective actions. * Audit warehouse completion of Food Safety Checklists. * Audit warehouse adherence to SOPs.
