Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Airworthiness Principal / Sr Principal Project Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within the Office of Independent Airworthiness (OIAW). This position is based in San Diego with a hybrid telework option available.
The selected candidate will report to and work closely with the Director of Airworthiness and other Airworthiness leaders to meet the goals and objectives of the Airworthiness organization. The candidate will serve as the business management point-of-contact and primary interface for the Global Surveillance program leaders as well as interact with Airworthiness personnel and other business management employees.
This position will have a heavy emphasis on EVM and business/project management support to the Global Surveillance Airworthiness organization. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Workforce and financial data tracking and analysis for monthly reporting requirements and reviews
Compiles cost, schedule, elements in the development of proposals in accordance with request for proposal (RFP)
Coordinates the collection and accumulation of cost, scheduling, and performance elements and prepares status reports
Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between organizations
Researches and analyzes historical data, develops cost models to support estimating and proposal efforts
A variety of ad hoc tasks/exercises
Position may be filled as either a Principal Project Management OR Senior Principal Project Management depending on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Project Manager:
Bachelor's degree with 5 years of Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business experience; OR a Master's degree with 3 years of related experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Knowledge and experience of Earned Value Management
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance
Ability to obtain special access program clearance
Basic Qualifications for a Sr Principal Project Manager:
Bachelor's degree with 9 years of Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business experience; OR a Master's degree with 7 years of related experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Knowledge and experience of Earned Value Management
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance
Ability to obtain special access program clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Proposal activities to include cost, schedule and planning activities
Resource management experience (EVM, indirect, NCTA, Capital)
Knowledge of Tableau and SAP
Financial reporting and accounting principles
Extensive experience in Proposal activities to include cost, schedule, and planning activities
Extensive knowledge and experience with Earned Value Management
PMP Certification
Ability to multi-task and support multiple programs and address leadership needs
Excellent communication skills
Active DoD Secret
Salary Range: $88,700.00 - $133,100.00Salary Range 2: $109,900.00 - $164,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
