Essential Functions
Develops and implements environmental management plans, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, including those set forth by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Environmental EPA, Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and other pertinent authorities.
Coordinates activities under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process (Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), Environmental Assessment (EA), Categorical Exclusion (CATEX)) and audits to identify risks and areas for improvement.
Collaborates with airport engineering team members to integrate environmental considerations into projects and maintenance activities.
Conducts regular inspections and monitoring of airport facilities to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
Provides training and guidance to airport staff on environmental best practices, while offering technical and regulatory expertise on federal, state and local environmental rules, regulations and policies.
Serves as the primary point of contact for environmental inquiries from regulatory agencies, stakeholders and the public.
Prepares and presents reports on environmental performance, initiatives and compliance to airport management and regulatory authorities.
Leads sustainability initiatives and projects to reduce environmental impacts and enhance the airport's stewardship.
Performs regulatory permit activities ensuring compliance with state, federal and municipal code requirements and regulations. Oversees permit compliance schedules, maintains compliance records and prepares for permit application submission.

Requirements
Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training
A combination of education and experience equivalent to:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, public policy, or a related field; and
7 years of experience in environmental management, working with broad sustainability concepts and projects, federal and state regulatory statutes governing municipal activities.
Experience working with regulatory agencies and conducting environmental permitting processes, including familiarity with FAA Order 5050.4B - NEPA Implementing Instructions for Airport Actions.
Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training
Experience working in the Aviation industry.
Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or similar certification.
Experience reviewing or writing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA)
Knowledge of:

Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record.
Licensing And Other Requirements
Valid state-issued driver's license.
Successful completion of the 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training within six months of hire date.
