To qualify for this position, an applicant should have:
One to two years of experience in airport noise control and abatement; including noise monitoring, and implementation and/or administration of a noise control program. Experience with the Airport Noise and Operations Monitoring System (ANOMS) is desirable
Considerable knowledge of federal air traffic control and noise regulations and their impact on airport operations
Considerable knowledge of airport operations, airport noise control methods and techniques, and acoustical and engineering theory related to airport noise
Knowledge of systems and methods used to test, collect data, and monitor aircraft flight operations and aircraft noise
Experience with performing data research and analysis and preparing reports and investigations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience with GIS and/or environmental compliance is desirable;
Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment.
Hiring Range Depending on Experience: $52,203.06 - $87,903.77

Administers aircraft noise notification, monitoring and abatement program including maintenance of records and data. Prepares reports for Department Director and Airport Authority leadership on noise notification and abatement issues;
Interprets and analyzes aircraft flight and noise data collected by Noise and Operations Monitoring System (NOMS) for use in responding to noise inquiries and complaints and in developing public information programs and noise abatement strategies. Responds to aircraft noise inquiries and complaints made via NOMS comment portal, noise hotline, or email;
Reviews proposed federal aircraft noise policies and regulations to ascertain effects on the airport and advises Department Director and Airport Authority leadership on findings;
Assist the Department Director in administering the NOMS vendor contract;
Assists Department Director and other departments in preparing comments and presentations for meetings with citizens, community groups, local government staff, and other organizations in regards to aircraft noise and in meeting with such groups;
Interacts with Federal Aviation Administration air traffic control tower personnel, and other state and local governmental officials and staff as needed;
Supports the Planning and Environmental Department in fulfilling environmental compliance responsibilities by conducting inspections, collecting samples, responding to spills, maintaining databases, and reviewing local land use zoning cases to ensure compatible land uses near the airport;
Routinely collaborates with public and media relations staff to respond to public requests and complaints as required.
