Pay

This position is an Exempt position at pay grade 208.

Attendance

Non-rotating 40-hour work week, Monday

  • Friday, 8:00 am

  • 5:00 pm; must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Overview

The Airport Facilities Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring employee performance and verifying that assigned projects, maintenance, and repair procedures are carried out in accordance with Airport standards and expectations. In accordance with OSHA and City safety policies, they will verify and enforce policy as deemed necessary for each applicable job or routing procedures to ensure safety of employees and customers. They will also work closely with the Facilities Manager during any employee disciplinary concerns or actions.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and inform maintenance staff during installations, equipment modifications, maintenance repair and/or overhaul of all A/C units and refrigeration equipment by troubleshooting malfunctioning or inoperative systems

  • Evaluate blueprints and schematics to determine operating sequences of equipment and wiring system; change oil, belts, and filters; monitor oxygen and carbon dioxide levels; and clean coils and drain lines as needed

  • Maintain open collaboration with HVAC, Custodial, Foremen, Planner/Scheduler, and Airport tenants to ensure continuity of services throughout the Airport.

  • Provide supervisory oversight and management of Building and Grounds Custodians, Airport Electricians, Maintenance Technicians, and Airport Equipment Operations through appropriate Leads and Foreman

  • Perform quality assurance and quality control functions by routinely making rounds to verify that technicians are performing assigned preventive maintenance and projects

  • Periodically inspect equipment to ensure proper operation

  • Correct equipment issues prior to equipment failure and advise management of equipment condition and any concerns for repairs

  • Review log documentation to determine if equipment is operating at nominal levels

  • Maintain daily collaboration with the maintenance staff to stay current with any potential development of equipment issues which may contribute to costly and undesirable down time

  • Attain daily feedback from custodial and grounds maintenance staff to verify condition of maintenance equipment and maintain adequate stock of necessary supplies

  • Operate City provided vehicles and equipment as required

  • Utilize computer PC and software applications including MS Office, Internet Explorer, and Maximo

  • Procure through P-Card and assume responsibility of City owned materials

  • Maintain dialogue with Heavy Equipment Mechanics to verify the reliability and condition of all airport City vehicles

  • Coordinate with supervisors and other trades with the intent of processing airport projects as needed

  • Report all finding to the Facilities Manager

  • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Requires an Associate's Degree (AA/AS) or 2-year Technical certificate

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience

  • Experience in HVA, Building , Facility Grounds, and Custodial Maintenance highly preferred

  • HVAC Technical Certification from an HVAC program must be attained within two (2) years of hire

  • Universal Certification for all types of refrigerants

  • A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered

  • A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
