Performs routine custodial tasks for all buildings and facilities of the airport within the guidelines of supervisory instructions, standing or special work orders, federal and state laws and regulations, and airport policies and procedures. Reports to Airport Custodial Maintenance Supervisor or other designated person and works with co-workers and the general public to provide maintenance support.


  • Performs routine custodial tasks (to include but not limited to emptying trash, dusting, sweeping, and mopping) for all buildings and facilities of the airport.

  • Cleans interiors walls, windows, and furniture of airport buildings and facilities.

  • Vacuums all carpeted areas, and cleans and maintains terrazzo floors.

  • Cleans restrooms and restocks supplies.

  • May occasionally be assigned to support other facilities maintenance sections as needed.

  • Provides customer service support.


Education: High School diploma or G.E.D.

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in custodial work at airports or similar facility as well as working with the public is required.


  • Proficiency in reading labels and following general instructions.

  • Good communication skills, both oral and written, with ability to direct customers regarding Airport evacuation and emergency procedures.

  • Ability to understand and abide rules and regulations set by the TSA and FAA when working on the secure side of the Airport.

  • Must acquire knowledge and maintain training of emergency procedures as required by the Federal Aviation Administration should a major incident occur at the airport.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.


  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with good driving history. If State license is other than Georgia or South Carolina, applicant must obtain a license in Georgia or South Carolina within 30 days of employment.

Position requires:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance as required by the TSA and FAA.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers regarding various general and way finding information.

  • Ability to understand protocols and procedures assessment associated with the TSA and FAA as well as pass testing and challenges pertaining to those protocols and procedures.

  • Must be available on call and after hours to support special events, projects and/or respond to Airport emergencies.

  • Must pass and maintain required TSA Criminal History Record Check and Security Threat Assessment.

  • This position requires staff call up in an emergency situation.


Physical Requirements:

Positions in this class typically require: walking, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Work is performed in an inside and requires light to medium work: exerting and lifting etc (20 lbs +).

In addition, this position receives and reviews each work order for completeness, validity of the priority, clarity and accuracy of information. Other activities include estimating maintenance jobs by showing sequence of steps, number of craftsperson man-hours and materials required. The position also plans and schedules mill maintenance including daily and annual downtime. Maintenance Planner - Pulp Mill JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following. * Partners with Operations Maintenance Coordinator and Front Line Leader to ensure efficient planning and coordination of maintenance work. * Responsible for daily and annual outage maintenance planning in designated area. * Daily effective communication with hourly and salaried maintenance personnel. * Directs contractors and ensures compliance with safety and quality requirements. * Effectively maintain planned work order backlog to ensure it is greater than two weeks within regular work hours. * Create and maintain BOM's and PM's. * Ensures Contracted PM's and Mill PM's are recorded. * Ensures all PMs are presented to the MOPs team for scheduling. * Participates in Maintenance weekend duty rotation. * Occasionally backfills for Maintenance Front Line Leader or Area Maintenance Manager. BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE: * Five plus years' progressive and practical pulp mill operation experience. * Previous supervisory experience preferred. EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE: * High School diploma or GED. * 3-5 years of maintenance planning experience preferred. * 5 years of maintenance experience. * Demonstrated knowledge of reliability concepts and application * Ability to read schematics. * Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Projects and Microsoft Office.
